i am not sure if it can beat indica or palio cause the size does matter

What was that? Sales?

Indica, agreed- tough because of the diesel option. But Palio? When did it achieve sales?

Also it is going to be a narrow gap between Santro and Getz. Dont think they will put it squarely against any rivals.

What are the tech specifications for PA? Would it better Santro? At what Cost?

Worth waiting for Pa than settling for Santro?

very true,i shall correct myself
its only indica and estelio(cause thes cars are available in the same price category ie a little above santro)

but tell crazy driver sir what would you prefer between indica/wagonR /and hyundai PA

Hey guys,
lets not forget that the spark still is a great car. It may look like a mouse(like someone said..hahaha) but delivers the goods. If they continue to keep the 1.1 engine from the santro it would be a letdown coz NVH is quite high compared to the S-tec from the Spark. The diesel however would be one killer combination...1.1 CRDi..but can the car handle it? Also if you realised Hyundai doesnt have a single car in India that comes with Airbags(except tucson and terracan), so lets hope they learn that safety features are to be added in!

I own the WagonR. But its dated now. Would go for it only for Maruti A.S.S. (Which is real good in TVM).

Indica- diesel is really tempting. Seriously, have had enough of paying so much for petrol for small car, when guys with bigger CRDi and DDiS engines pay much less for diesel.

Pa- Let it come out. If they dont overprice it, should be good. But, news that no CRDi diesel is coming initially is disappointing.

Dont think GM is having nice time with Spark sales. Although the 1.1 in the Santro has bit high NVH compared to Spark, it offers good peppy response.

The New Santro.... It will definately, if not as the Santro, fit somewhere in Hyundai's big plans for India.

Thanks
Redcandle

Looks better than the current Santro Xing

Errmmm... I think the front is ok (has to be body-coloured bumpers though). There is something not right about the back. Those tail lights look as if no effort was put into designing them.

ewe. I think, it looks pretty ugly. It is a horrible attempt to give the car a next-gen look.

Spied: Hyundai i10

It is really disappointing to note that there has been no update from HYUNDAI about this any further... Many people according to me are waiting for the I10/PA.... I asked Advaith Hyundai in Blore, they (the person i talked to) absolutely did not have any info about I10 whatsoever... somehow the excitement is fading away....

Finally some news from HYUNDAI...

Read on.... (Source: The Telegraph - Calcutta)

Calcutta, Oct. 22: Hyundai Motor India Ltd will launch its compact car i10, code named Pa, in the country on November 1.
The car will be available in 10 colours. It will have a sun roof, the first for a compact car. The i10 is expected to be priced between Rs 3.7 lakh and Rs 3.9 lakh.
India is set to be the global manufacturing hub for the compact car.
The Korean auto firm plans to more than double its export volumes from India in the next two years.
Hyundai aims to export one lakh units this fiscal and expects to increase this to 2.5 lakh units in the next two years.
Hyundai cars comprise about 70 per cent of India’s auto exports.
Apart from the Santro, plans are afoot to bring models such as the Getz and the Accent under the export fold as the manufacturing capacity increases.
The company’s new plant in Chennai with a capacity of three lakh units is expected to go on stream by October this year.
This will take Hyundai’s total capacity to six lakh units.
It is also being speculated that a Santro variant may be in the offing. The company had launched the Santro Xing in 2003.
Company officials said it had already slashed prices of the Santro. However, industry sources said a variant with fewer features and a price cut of Rs 70,000 or above might be on the cards.
Hyundai sells around 18,000 units per month with Santro accounting for 13,000 to 14,000 units.
The eastern region contributes 9 per cent to the auto major’s sales in the country. This is expected to rise to 15 per cent in the next three years.

The Telegraph - Calcutta : Business

Hi penpavan, good news article. I am also waiting for the launch to really see what they finally offer despite so much scoops and speculations. They mentioned sunroof but sadly nothing about auto tranny since they alsready stopped santro automatic.

That is true....lets hope they have an AT..
But if manual is ok, then everything is just right according to this article.
The article says, car is priced between 3.7 and 3.9 Lac! But really not sure which variant will that be. Hope for this price, they have the sunroof..

Anyways, Nov 1 is not so far away!!

How big is the car? I though a Corolla & a Civic were called compact
cars with an Accent being a sub-compact?
