I guess the speculation on the i10 replacing the santro does not seem to hold water once you think of it.The i10 has been positioned right in the middle of the santro & the getz. It is very common for a company to gain a customer at the entry level & then encourage them to move up their value chain, thus having products at all possible price points. My take is we will soon see a better entry level santro with the i10 serving as an upgrade to existing santro owners.

In 440007, you can get an extra Santro mate....

Anyways....yes, the difference is much but consider this....
In delhi one of the dealer is giving Santro GLS with beige interiors and wood finish.... He is charging 35-40K extra just for that...

Moreover, Santro is 10 years old in India whereas i10 is the new kid on the block so resale will also be much better...

Old thread, new reply :-).

I read somewhere that the 10 means the 10 new "i" innovations they have put for the car. It seems the next versions of Getz, Verna etc will
be named as iN (where N is the innovations behind it).

I found it silly to believe.

BIG Discount is back on i10 to celebrate 3 lacs in just 17 months of launch.

In Bangalore they are offerring free insurance, usual exchange bonus, extended warranty. If we bargain may be few free accessories.

i10 has become big success in India which shows people started giving value for quality products.

Ravi.

Have some info on this...

i30 was first Hyundai car to carry the "i" in its name..the number 30 is the equivalent to the segment corresponding to its segment- the european C segment...

Here it goes:

i+numerical equivalent of the segment

i10 - A segment
i20 - B segment
i30 - C segment

and so on...

My Kappa is darling!!!

I recently bought my 2nd car the i10 Kappa. the whole experience was lingering for too long as i wanted to exchange my old 800 for a new set of snazzy wheels.
The front runner for my choice was the Santro and the i10. I was more interested in the i10 where the cabin was much well built along with amazing interiors. This, was very important as I was gonna spend max time inside my car travelling for my job.
While making a choice, I had to decide from the 1.1 L and 1.2 L Kappa. the sales consultant told me that the Kappa is rocket of an engine with the punch everytime the paddle is floored.
The accceleration is outstanding and the drive is lovely in the city where it handles like a charm.
Well over two months now and a very satisfied me.
Well done Hyundai.
