I always thought the Snatro wasn't bad-looking. However, it lost out to the WagonR because the latter was more practical in terms of performance, space etc. Then Hyundai introduced the Xing and made it look the same boxy type that the WagonR was. This was not an intelligent decision,IMO, but i guess they had to live up to tradition of copying designs. But i am pretty sure that Santro would not remain at #1 for long. BTW, i also read that Hyundai have now managed to clear their debts. So Hyundai end the year on a high!!

well my guess is that Hyundai will be on number one for a long time, since there are so many good cars to come. And all Hyundai has to do is pick the good stuff of each car and add it to their car. And they get a car that the public loves. I guess they are already being ready for a car to beat the Swift.

Same story in the other segments. Esteeem rules the lower C segment but the Indigo sells more.

Baleno has more appeal than the Accent or the Ikon but Baleno sells the least.

The NHC and the Toyota Corolla are probably the only cars that are top in appeal and top in sales. I ain't saying it, the JD Power survey does.

I wonder why the D segment isn't listed.

I own a Skoda Octavia Diesel but I love the Honda Accord :)
or maybe people are satisfied with the overall product of Santro and they just like the looks and performance of the Wagon R.

Not really, you can't compare the Accord with the Octavia Diesel as they belong to different Segments. The Wagon R and Santro are pretty well matched in every aspect, and the JD Power (Appeal) Study isn't based on looks and performance alone, they take the overall package into consideration.

So, either the JD Surveyers are confused or the people don't know what they want.
