yes this thread has a purpose - its for people who want a performance hatch and dont care about whether it takes diesel or petrol as long as it performs really well.
And yes we know bhpian who has taken a delivery and some like anju who have TD'd, so its a fair comparison.

So far engine wise (torque and bhp) getz seems to be better, build quality and lack of abs both seem at par, its just the handling in question - we should have some clarity on the current performance hatch once we get that input.

yeah i think someone said a diesel reaches its top speed in 5th gear while a petrol 4th. Besides a true hot hatch allows some mods and I havent seen many palios with turbos or workable mods. Getz crdi should be easily just peted and you have a awesome car. Handling can be adjusted so thats not a concern. Most hot hatch owners would anway want to spend some moolah on handling and performance over time

You can easily guess my choice and yes you are right - it is GETZ CRDI.

It would not be right to compare Palio 1.6 (old and outdated technology) with the latest Getz CRDI. We should be comparing GETZ with GRANDE PUNTO.
In which case I would vote for Grande Punto.

I am too amused to see that, knowledgable folks of Team BHP also inludging in judging the car without driving the cars.

Now that very normal of people but thought Team BHP folks are different -

This poll is not about which is a better car, but which is a more liked car among the voting crowd.

Why should we compare hatches of entirely different outlooks;
A family car trying to be a hatch and another a true HOT hatch.

Anyhow my vote goes to Palio.

Please me add one more thing.
I've seen a number of CRDIs which sounds like 'Mahindra VAN' after some 40-50K kms .

Still they are more refined and far more powerful than Palio D.

I don't believe this. I recently drove an S10 with around 50k on the odo and it still sounded very smooth and was very responsive. And if i'm not mistaken, no changes have been made to the engine in the Stile.

Yes most of the inputs we get on cars is not by driving but by reviews and reviews for grande Punto is just too good.

this(the engine in GETZ) isnt the old CRdi from accent, its a new one.....i think u havent experienced this engine.....

and also the handling of GETZ as i have seen, isnt sooooo bad, it handles well and can be thrown around corners with proper set of footwear..

although i am not a BIG fan of korean engineering, still vote for GETZ ........
but plzzzz can anyone give me the details of the guy who gave the idea of those digustin interior trims in GETZ CRDi, i wanna beat him black and blue...........
