Its not the old fiesta but a completely new car designed with inputs from Ford Australia.

Look at the headlights in the pic. It resembles that of the ritz.

Those pics were simply test mules with only 5-6 % bits under camouflage. This car looks totally different from the purple fiesta pic you posted.

I spotted a similar looking Ford yesterday near Kottivakam en route ECR in chennai. It was a black coloured one, and i saw it in the rear view mirror. Waiting for it to cross so that i can click a picture but the peak hour morning traffic didn't allow that

Looking through the rear view mirror the car looked similar proportioned to the one on the spypic. It was smaller than Fusion, somewhat like a shrunken version of Fusion. The front looked distinctively different though; it resembled more of the Jazz type grill and sharper headlamp assembly.

It was not covered, and the blue oval was prominant. For a moment i thought someone did a damn good job of modifying Fusion, but realised that it was much small than Fusion.

Will make sure to click the pictures next time when (if) i spot this one.

My guess is that the small car spotted by sidindica is a low cost version of the Verve hatch. The car spotted by benny last year was the previous generation euro-spec Fiesta hatch (same platform as our Indian Fiesta sedan).

Ford have forever been mulling a small car for India, therefore I would not be surprised if they gave up on the idea of introducing the Fiesta hatch(which benny spotted) in favour of the newly developed small car based on the Verve hatch (clicked by sid).

Does look like the old Gen Fiesta.
If Ford were to bring in the new Fiesta even if priced in the premium Rs 5-7L price tag, i'm sure it would be a run away success.

Look at the "mirrors" from the previous gen Fiesta or similar to our current generation Fusion. I have always been a fan of this car (fusion) and would love to buy one at 4-5 lakhs (thats what the Ford guys are trying with this model).

Please launch it soon Ford!
