And the dealer training was organised day before yesterday at Chennai

Got a confirmation that the small car announcement will be made this week. Will take some time to hit the roads though.

Sources inform that Ford plans to target this vehicle as a mass seller and the base variant will not have AC or power steering (similar to the M800 strategy)
Who wants a ford without AC? That is absurd, better buy the nano base if you don't want AC, (non ac car for 3L?)

Hi Guys,

My resource tells me its not gonna be called Splash. I know the name but cannot disclose it untill its official. Wait till a couple of day(s) and you all would know what its gonna be called. And yes, Allan is in India for this purpose only.

@Amtak- Are you sure the car is not gonna be called Splash? Someone (not on this forum) also told me that Splash is the name.

Now that the news is out, we might as well wait till tomorrow and see what happens.

Seems to me that the car is basically a Mk6 Fiesta from UK with a 1.2 liter engine.
Mk6 Fiesta looks a lot like the Fusion and has a bland and boring looking front. Hope they took care of that.
I hope the engine is based on their 1.25 liter Yamaha designed 16v powerplant and not the Rocam or the Zetec.

Rocam and Zetec are older names. Now Zetec is only a trim in the UK.

Is the Yamaha designed range the same as DuraTEC?

I thought rocam engine was 1.3 L the one we have in Ikon, the MK6 Fiesta in UK had a 1.25L engine

BTW Zetec is a trim/varient not an engine specification.

Now it is a trim. Earlier it was a series of engines:
