Guys when the SS80 was introduced I was finishing school and had just learned to drive. One of my friends dad had a light blue car. He was an IAS officer and used to spend lots of time away on tours.

We used to sneak out with the car. The first thing we would do was jack up the rear, remove one tyre at a time and fit them back with the rims inverted, ie reversed, with the inside facing out. The wheels would then stick out of the arches and gave it a mean look.

Now this must have accelerated the wheel bearing wear but it was worth it for the fun of it. Chicks would go crazy and wanted rides in this thing !!

That Maruti 800 with big wheels does look good.

it would be nice if everyone keeps the other "girls" out of this thread.
there is only one girl in this and that is the "SS80"

Saw a very similar looking SS80 with the high profile mag wheels in Sadashivnagar last week, same colour too, had your cousin dropped in to Bangalore by any chance ? Could not take any pics of the car for comparison though.

Sorry to interpret.

The gear box is different with regard to Torque.

The engine block is same as the later models of SS80, sharing the same Deawoo block.

I had the opportunity to change my SB308's gear box with that of an SS80. I had a horrid time while doing this mod. Finally swapped all moving parts from an SS80 gearbox onto the SB308's box.

And the results are just PHENOMENAL , my M-800 is running madder than ever, i can call WICKED

tyre query

The SS80 tyre size is mentioned as 4.50-12-6PR which is the same as the Maruti omni.
The SB308 tyre size was 5.65-12 6PR (now radial 145/70 R12)
Now my question is do these tyre sizes differ?
I have always felt the SS80 runs on bigger wheels as compared to SB308; or just my perception I guess.
What do you guys think?
