For all we know, you both might be talking about the same car!

Shiva, did you see this red car with a dealer in Vijaynagar colony, Masab tank?? He also has a grey superselect that he wants to keep for himself.

Na shyam this is the same car that I was talking to you earlier. The car belongs to Babar. The originality level is what I am unsure about.

@Ram -- Now where is the treat for getting hold of a rare Jap beauty

Sure Shiva..Once the car is ready..I will treat you and my good old friend Shyam.
Right now the A/c is getting fixed..then Leather seat covers and matting to be done and finally a Teflon coat and the Jap beauty is ready to go.
Expected to complete the resto by midnext week..if these incessant rains stop in Hyderabad.

Meanwhile I have to attend to my Vespa restoration too.

Ooops! Yeah that's right, you did mention it to me when we met!
Forgot, sorry! Having a job sure has taken away my focus from more 'interesting' things!

Thanks ram garu! Speaking of leather seat covers, a request- could those who have OH REE GEE NAL DX models (ie. with the OH REE GEE NAL LEATHER seat covers) post clearer pics. of their cars' upholstery

I plan to fit similar ones on my car too, which has velvet cloth covers now (and is not a DX), when time/money permits.

So any detailed pics. of the leather covers would be appreciated, thanks.

Shyam..these were the DX leather seats.I could find the starry design in white,so i decided to go for black and white crush italian leather which comes close to the original

Nope, sorry ram! These are NOT leather seats and not from a DX.
These seats are what originally came in the Standard models, including mine, when new.

These seem to be the original leather seats for the DX, but need a clearer view of them, hence my request for pics.:

Shyam..Those orginal leather seats look horrendous. Are u sure of them?
Anyways,I have decided to go for the Black and White interlaced covers. They will give a better look.

I agree. The so called original leather seats do not look gaceful and elegant IMO. The black and white combination is a lot better.

Nope! These are the OE covers which came on the standard model. If your car has them , then i'd say retain them. Even these are becoming hard to find.

That is the leather seat pattern on the DX version. But this is the first time, I'm seeing one in such a colour. My car has them in a Greyish beige colour.
I think the colour of the seat varied with the body colour.
This is the list, from what i've observed.

Exterior------Interior
Red --------- Beige
Blue------- Beige/ Greyish Beige
Brown ----- Dark purplish (as in suresh's car)
White -------?? (I've heard reports of dark blue, not sure)

Again, I'm not sure if this is correct, I just compiled the list based on what i've seen.

Uh, do the seats in the brown car look purplish?? I feel they are just a tannish brown? As for the white cars, I was told that they came with a tannish brown shade leather interior, so this could be the one in those as well?

I would prefer the beige one though, as it would be a nice contrast for the exterior, would suit even red if I decided on painting the car so in future.
