If you see the wheel rims closely it belongs to Alto. The seat fabrics are aftermarket and non OE.The condition of paint was excellent but the maruti and 800 badges are missing .
The vehicle is not for sale just for display purposes on enquiry

Below another Maruti 800(SS80) in maroon colour with roof rails just parked outside the showroom.

the car although lacks originality has been refurbished very thoroughly,so it is a real headturner

''Display vehicle '' means that the car was bought by the showroom only for display purpose.Actually this has become a fad in many Showrooms these days.A prominent long time HM dealer in South Tamilnadu was looking all over the place for a 1948 Hindustan10 to use as display vehicle(was ready to pay a fancy price) but has still not got it

Yes ajay99 389172.5 till date now. I think sureshkishore meant 390000.0
Anyways since the car has run so much, I must admit its not in very good health. The guy who used to lovingly service and repair it regularly has moved out of Bangalore about 5yrs back and the result - lot of parts being changed over recent time at other garages. Also the part availability is a problem. I intend to refurbish the car but don't know where to start

This Japanese Maruti has a note of caution!

"Caution: Made in Japan" and on the fuel cap it says "Nitrogen only"

Spotted this immaculately maintained SS80 in Indiranagar. Looks like a sparingly driven car.

Re: Maruti Suzuki SS80 DX

WOW what a beauty! She is surely a sparingly driven car. Still has the Bias Tires on them. The Monogram on the hood opener is also intact, so is the PDI sticker. Stanley Sealed beams are intact too.
Should be a 1984 model.
Hate the roof mounted carrier.

From the body line the car doesnt look tinkered. Except for the slight ding on the Fr Lh door and running board everything looks great.

BTW Is this is the same beauty posted by EARTHed.

Hope he can confirm.

Re: Maruti Suzuki SS80 DX

Zazer,
keep the following things in mind. Since these cars were very fuel efficient and the resale value was great most of the examples you see would have run extensively and changed hands numerous times. So after 25 years they would be in quite bad shape.
So 90% chance is that you would come across a car that has undergone major repairs to the engine as well as body. In such a case do check for the quality of work. If a cute retro runaround is what you want then this is the best buy.

But if you are looking for one in concourse shape, my advice is to get old of a original single owner car that has run relatively less. The CAX car on the previous post is an excellent candidate. May be you would have to shell out a premium for it. But trust me, its worth it.
