yes,the ss80 did come RHS(Right hand side) door mirror(made in JAPAN).this may not be available except from scrap yard.
This mirror is different from the SB308 door mirror.

Re: Maruti Suzuki SS80 DX

Yes SS80 mirrors are quite different from the Maruti type ones, these are still there on few cars and I feel quite surprised to see on few cars still in good shape. Shyam you can try with scrappers but still doubtful but you should find with some mechanics who have worked with these cars, or if lucky you might find in any car which you can barter with brand new ones. I will try from my end as well.

In kerala almost all single owner well maintained cars have them.one reason is that most of the ss80 owners like their fiat/ambassador peers(which had no door mirrors) used to drive with their door mirror closed and hence most of them survived. You may notice that it is the new generation drivers who drive with both the door mirrors wide open even in congested traffic and narrow lanes which makes it the most vulnerable part to get damaged

Right Ajay, there are few drivers who cannot venture out without the mirrors, I accept I am partially with them, I need the right side mirror that too when I drive my Bolero but for my Fiat's, Willys I don't require any. I feel surprised when I find a well maintained SS80 and the pinnacle to the maintenance is when I find the rear view mirror and the chrome sticker strip on the rear door between the tail lamp. I like the rear number plate of SS80.

Re: Maruti Suzuki SS80 DX

I've just bought a 1985 SS80 and the car is now gone for denting, tin-work, paint and electrical work.

I need parts like rear tail-lamp frames, antenna, glove box lid, door mirror (I've been told ambassador's mirror is similar to ss80?) rear dicky shock and front grille. Can anyone help me find out where I can find them cheap in Mumbai?

Most of the plastic parts are not available new

You may have to look for these in the scarp market.

The Dicky shock will be available new at any of the old dealers.

Pics of the present condition will help in giving suggestions/leads

Congrats on the car and welcome to the SS80 club. Is it a DX? pls post some pix.

Reg the parts- My answers in bold.

rear tail-lamp frames- Indian make (alpha toyo) tail lamps are available. It comprises of the frame, lenses and the reflectors.

antenna- Any accessory store will have it.

glove box lid- The scrap yard is your only hope. The ss80 glovebok lid has a tendency to break off from the bottom, the only option is to use a hinge inside. Please ensure that its done neatly.

door mirror- Again, try your luck at the scrapyard. I think an NE118 has a similar one, but larger.

rear dicky shock - Still available new.

front grille- If ur lucky, you will find a new one, else, scrapyard again!

Regarding tail lamps, I only need the cover and frames, I'll visit the local scrapyard here, does anyone have any contacts at BKC scrap yard or Chor-bazar in Mumbai for old maruti parts?

Door mirror I've heard even the Amby or 118 NE have similar. I think even the WagonR (old generation) has a similar setup, I'm planning to use the Wagon R mirror as its big.

Glove box lid, Isnt it the same as old generation omni?
