Re: Maruti Suzuki SS80 DX

Have anybody here tried to use the Eeco's blower knob for SS80 blower handle? Is it a correct fit?
Looks adaptable from the pic below.

Re: Maruti Suzuki SS80 DX

A couple of SS80s I've recently come across. 'thought of taking pics. of any I can spot since they are becoming close to 'extinct' now!

The red one (pic. taken from inside my own SS80!) is from the very colony I live in, I see it in the nearby streets/areas often as well, driven by a young lady. Not the best in terms of originality though definitely cared for.

The yellow one with the ghastly front end and rear bumper lies in a street in a nearby locality.

Hey Stanher, thats a nice picture of the red SS80 you have taken sitting inside your own.
My SS80 has been lying in the garage without running for the last 6 months, I need to get the fitness certificate renewed. The RTO wouldnot accept without having a fresh coat of paint on it and sadly, I haven't had the time to go around town looking for a tinkerer to do a good job. Feel very bad about the state of my beauty when I happen to spot some of these still running.
With all the new cars these surely are getting extinct.

I dont know about the situation in a metro city like Hyderabad but in cities like Trivandrum and Cochin the number of SS80's as daily drive cars are up since the last few years. You can spot at least 20-30 cars in regular use in Trivandrum city.

Not such a case here in Mumbai. I had to sell mine sadly because of parking space issue.

Re: Maruti Suzuki SS80 DX

Hi all,

Can anyone help me get an OE air-filter element for my SS80 please? Mine needs to be replaced and my mech. has not been able to find one available locally yet! :(

Because of this I cannot fit back the air-cleaner onto my car and have had to run it that way.

Or else will one from a later 800 air-cleaner (Purolator) suit mine?

'will post a pic. of the old one if needed for ref.

the air filter element is same for the SB308 and SS80 so there should not be any problem

Which SB308 are you referring to, if specifically? The early ones (made until 1998-99)?
I did ask my mech. this but he said the vacuum (not sure what exactly?) on later models is higher than that of the SS80, which will end up chocking up the carburettor hence advised against it.

I think there was no change till the mpfi versions came.
But anyway the pre97 ones should definitely work
You can ask suresh kishore for expert advice

KBT-2345 was a White standard SS80 which left Trivandrum a few years ago. It seems it has been modded up. Sorry that I dont know more about this car .
