Baleno anytime anyday.Mileage+Power+Low slung body makes it more of a drivers car.
And the sx4 with its not so pleasin engine sound at high rpms+body roll+no kick on the seat effect that the baleno gives when revved.
So the baleno for me

I think we are discussing only the looks here.
Of course for engine, mileage and power, my vote goes to Baleno. BUT, for looks alone, i would rather give the SX4 a thumbs up over Baleno.

So i vote for the SX4.

To me proportion is everything and the Baleno is a clear winner for me.

Nothing beats the low slung look of a car with a good track to height ratio.

Have driven both cars and from a driver's point of view, the Baleno feels more performance oriented (even though it's slower than the SX4 in a straight line).

If I exaggerate my feelings, it looks like if Contessa Classic is parked side by side to Grande Vitara.
It was just yest that i saw an SX4 parked next to a Wagon R and trust me, from where i was standing, i couldn't figure out which was taller.

This is a difficult and subjective comparison, as with all earlier vs current models. The earlier (Baleno) had more of a traditional sedan look to it whereas the current (SX4) is a fusion of concepts. Not a dissimilar situation with the OHC vs NHC.
Functionality-wise, I'm sure both have their strong and weak points - again a difficult and subjective comparison.

For me its simply the baleno.

To me the SX-4 looks more macho like an SUV and not in par with a real sports car looks.

I'd started a thread a few months back, on what happened to the old school of car designing, and on why sleek, PROPER car designs have been eschewed in favor of tall stubby cars.

The baleno might have ugly lighting elements, but the body looks elegant nonetheless.

I have a distinct thing against all current designs, SX4, aveo, verna, fiesta et al.

i donot really like sx4 design from back.baleno does have the ugly elements but the design is somewhat simple.so its the baleno design which is better (my view)
