SRV - Celebration Price - 74K price cut

Just saw this in Todays TOI, the SRV now has a celebration price.
God knows what celebration they have with SRV, may be they had few good prospects last month (not orders)

The ad says

Old Price - 701,000/ - (Ex* Thane)
New Price - 627,000/ - (Ex* Thane)

Is this move for trying to find the same success they had from Spark price cut OR Is it a move so as to introduce SRV Diesel at high price band?

Perhaps celebrations on 100 SRVs being sold upto now. Soon, celebrations will begin on 2000 Optra Diesels sold. Optra Diesel already has a 3 yr/45000K maintenance cost waiver/holiday or something like that in Delhi.

It's only a matter of time before GM comes out with their "Employee Pricing for everyone" deal like they do every year in North America.

I do find quite a few SRVs in Bangalore. Maybe, the techies might have taken a liking to it.
Even with this price cut, I think it is priced pretty high.

Yeah...quite like Ford had a special edition or an anniversary edition everytime they sold 10 Escorts in India.

This is very late. I expected such a discount immediate to their SRV launch. Does GM think they can roll out more SRV by this discount? :-)

Haha, I couldnt help but laugh at those 10 Escorts...100 Srv fighures )
The car is good, design and comfort in particular...but at that price its still way steep!

What are they celebrating for? SRV although being a cool looking car hasnt caught up on the sales chart. I hope the price cut will work a little magic for them.

I liked steeriod's comment on the Escort. I think Escort was the car with max number of limited editions released.

Guys, leaving all jokes apart. This is a good price for the car. Its just bit more expensive than the fusion and higher versions of Getz.

Hope its going to be the price from now on! (Once they realise thats the only way to get some sales).

Success of Spark price cut? Now, sales from the last two months have shown that Spark sales haven't grown significantly. They are still struggling to sell the production capacity of 2k cars per month.

Huge price cuts are a big marketing mistake from GM, and i hope they realise and learn from their mistake soon!

Good price? I don't think so!
Pls note that Fusion D and Getz D is cheaper than SRV Petrol.

And any petrol Hatch priced more than 5 lacs will be a flop in India!

I'd rather go for the Getz Diesel any day.

No doubt the SRV is a looker - In fact it looks better than most cars twice its price BUT then it has hardly sold.
