Looks like M & M is in expansion mode in a big way. If the interest in Jaguar and LR deal was not enough then have a look at this article. It plans to launch a station wagon in 2008 and an hatchback by 2009 end. Looks like the UV major has finally decided that if it wants no.s then it has to get into the small car business.

Its good to know, competition is always good for the customers.

The article isn't clear about whether the hatch and stationwagon will the Logan's or entirely new products designed and developed independantly by Mahindra. I suspect they are talking about the Logan hatch and wagon.

I did see a ticker on CNBC a couple of days back quoting Mahindra as saying that they want to be known as "the Land Rover of the east." The planned high end SUV seems to confirm that.
