SX4 hatchback launched? EDIT : Wrong ad

Hi guys,

Just saw the back page of Delhi times and there was an ad by Competent Automobiles. There is the picture of a SX4 but without the boot!!! Is this the SX4 hatchback?? The ad does not say hatchback or anything but that SX4 is the not the one available in India. It surely is a hatchback. Delhites please confirm!!! It looks exactly like the pic below:

Yup! me saw it too. I guess its just a bold as by the dealer, nothing else. Though it did look good.

a mistake most likely. I have seen the hatchback in Canada. It's good looking. The hatchback design explains why the sedan derived from it looks raised and awkward from the back.

I have seen the SX4 hatchback in teh Netherlands...infact the Suzuki showroom beside my office has one on display..to me it looked really nice..with roof rails and all...will try to get the engine and other details from the showroom...

I think it wud be a success if launched in India..

Thought Suzuki was trying to make a sedan out of Swift rather than a hatchback out of SX4.

I think they should first deliver the backordered sedans SX4s before even thinking of going the hatchback way .

There is no market for that.. how many Chevy SRV's are being sold currently ?

Maruti has always been mass market player..

Business Standard has reported once that Maruti was keen to fill the huge void between Gypsy (5L) and Grand Vitara (18L then) by introducing an in-between SUV. I had then thought that SX4 hatch was on the way but alas!

Dont think they will launch it. Even if they do, the price tag will have to be much less than the SX4, which would co-incide with the Swift sedan!

Here is some news from ET about some new car launch on Auto Expo by Suzuki aimed as a Euro Car. Maybe swift sedan, maybe something else like what you have spotted.

The story refers to the Concept A-Star - that is what Osamu Suzuki launched today. It is meant for European markets and will be built in India.
