Not so good! To hell with Suzuki, if they decide it to launch in Europe!

To be honest! I have started liking this car. If priced neatly, I'll buy it.

Salil, If you can read this, drop the idea of committing suicide, lets go and impress some gals in my new car

I am quite amused that, apart from you, not many NHC lovers noticed it!

Thats the exact reason for his comment. The type that would get impressed by seeing this over-endowed swift might not be his cup (of tea or whatever).

hey all. sorry for missing all the action here.
to answer some of the questions:
- no PS. its as REAL as it gets. i saw it.
- cant tell how i got the scoop.
- the scene at the background obviously tells "where", Maruti plant, Gurgaon.
- i hope its just a prototype and MUL should try and improve. hell i say start from scratch ppl.
- and the looks are not "THAT" bad. they are alright. wont make u throw up atleast.
- the bumper design is a rip-off sx4.
- the rear overhang reminds me of verna.

I dont think Maruti has failed badly in selling anything that they made except the Versa. Which car from Maruti is a "drop down dead gorgeous" looking one?? Havent they all sold, including the Estilo which is synonym for a breadbox (Due respects to owners).

This car will sell considering the awesome engines they plan to use, service and of course killer price. Where are the critics of SX4 now? Haven't they been silenced???

I know this is a hard statement.........People who care too much for looks rather than for better affortability, value for money, lower maintainence, wider service network and reliability, better fuel efficiency etc must keep themselves to Hondas, Toyotas etc. (Kindly excuse if this sounds harsh)

If you fall in the above category, Maruti is not for you. Having said this, if the diesel version of this car is affordable and reliable, I will consider it as my next car.

Unfortunately NO! I am sure maruti will make it a winner by pricing it competitively. Can we expect the Esteem prices to come in the range of 4.5L?

Was waiting for the e-zen from the Maruti stable but that never came. Then I heard at the time of the Swift launch that a b-swift would be an option. Now that too seems like wishful thinking !

Don't you guys think that would be more of a success then a Swift sedan ???

Its definitely not photoshop.

I can say for sure that this picture is not photoshop job because if AMITVERMA was to photoshop it he would have done a better job than the guys at Maruti have done with this. They should have requested the services of Italians and if not at least Dileep Chabria.
I grant it that in butt ugliness it will give serious competition to the Indigo and the NHC. Among the Indian butt jobs the few hatch to sedan conversion that has jelled well is the Palio to Petra ; Fiat1100 to Padmini and also the Hindustan Landmaster to Ambassodor.
Have I missed out anyother?
Bye and wear your seat belts.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, presenting the BMW 7 series for the masses."

@Amitverma, thats a great scoop. Looks like they are having a pilot build in Gurgaun. Launch must be round the corner. Doesn't look bad at all but will be very close to the SX4 in size.

If the pic is an original:
- With Amitverma's permission, Mods, please delete both the pics from this thread and place a pic with the tbhp watermark. This is a world exclusive guys!!
- The looks ain't that bad. Adding a boot to the swift was always a difficult job. I think Maruti has done quite a good job. It could have been better, but its ok.
- That door might not be fully shut. Considering all the other panel gaps, this one so wide.. not possible.
- The multiple shadows theory seems to be correct.
- Amit, you can get your Maruti friend, fired for this.

If the pic is a fake:

- Someone has done a brilliant job at faking it! I must congratulate him (nothing against you amit, am just saying if).
- There are two swifts and one SX4 in the background. Though, this might be irrelevant. But had there been one more swift sedan, it would have been a lot more helpful.
- I fail to understand, why Maruti will name the sedan Swift Zxi and even give the same alloy wheels as the swift. The less commonalities b/w the two.. the better for Maruti and the consumers who will be paying a lot more for just a boot.
- Since this design has always been kept a secret, I can't believe a camera phone was allowed. And that person was allowed to take a picture as well, with the other worker looking.
- The panel gaps are specially wide in the rear door and the boot. Making the case for a photoshop pic more strong.

I don't find it particularly ugly, as good or bad as the swift. Its not pretty for certain, but then there are very few pretty cars in the segment. And if this is the real thing then it does resolve somewhat the rear seating space and visibility in the swift.
