What are the features of each variant?

Kerb weight is 1065 Kg.
Power is 75PS
Torque is 184Nm

Is this comparable to Swift Diesel?

No model has ABS or Airbags.

Shame on Fiat.

Tyres are 165/80/13 tubeless.

Same as in Palio 1.2 NV, the one I have.

18 month warranty + 18 month extended warranty.

Pretty decent.

Swift has 190 Nm of Torque as compared to 184 mentioned above. How much could affect the ride ?

The specs seem the exact same as the Swift DDIS. Even the weight seems the same.
Top end model gets these features over the other models:
Rear power windows,
Clock
Wiring for a 6 speaker set up,
cabin light with timer,
brushed metal facia,
vanity mirror,
floor console
body colored ovrm & handles,
rear washer and wiper & demister,
side waistline moulding.

Also include the kerb weight of Palio is 1065k to Swift's 1075k. I feel the difference in torque wouldnt be bad to be felt.

Are they really serious in selling this against Swift DDiS....??

So the complete package of Diesel hatch is still missing (don't consider Fabia here)

Now Palio MJD has rear wiper / wash / demister.....but no ABS, no 14" even steel rims....

Swift DDiS - No rear wash wipe and demister, no alloys

Getz 1.5 VGT - No rear wash wipe demiser / alloys / Getz GLS features / ABS

Would there be another version of Palio MJD launched later may be?

Finally the car has arrived. If it was available 6 months back I would have probably bought it instead of the Swift. Still got to drive it and see.

Swift VDi lacks the above mentioned in Bold. Swift has the speaker wiring but I dont know how many speakers it supports.

Not really sure what a floor console is either.

Hope the Palio D sales are good, its a deserving car.

Spoke to Shaman Auto Mumbai.

Sometimes back I had conversation with the sales guy (The same person who was instrumental in selling me Palio 1.6)....he had promised me to give me a call when launched....so I got this call

The top end version Mumbai ex-showroom was told as 5.25....he also mentioned that these are dummy prices which they have received, they will get the officical prices after launch whic is due today or tomorrow.

Also they have received the car...which is not on display and is covered....

He said is silent than VDi....well I am taking this as one of the sales tactics

He is getting the car at my office on official launch as I had told him that I want a diesel car

EDIT - the front grill has changed in MJD (as per sales guy)

This is going to be a tough competition.Still swift would sell more than the palio more because of the acceptance swift has already gained with the indian customers. The image a swift and palio delivers-i would prefer the swift over palio.

If I was to choose between a Palio MJD and Swift D (Comparable models) and if the price difference is 25K, I would go for Swift and so would majority of the people (i think) because of various factors like A$$, cost of spares etc.
