I would say Fiat India has got the pricing right, infact all Fiat cars launched in India in the past were rightly priced!

If Fiat-Tata can market the Palio MJD aggessively and further improve the Service levels, Fiat cars should impact the sales charts too.

I think we should be rational enough before saying its "only 25k's cheaper"

But even the base model has more goodies.
So if we take into the price of goodies then it will be worth more than that.

A 1-3 months waiting period plus a 25K premium for the swift compared to Tata motors backed Palio stile which I think looks as good outside if not inside.

a 20% share of swift's sale is enough for palio stile to live happily.

At 25k less than the Swift, the top end seems to come with slightly better features. That said, it does have smaller tyres - 13'' with 184 NM of torque doesnt seem to inspire confidence, at least on paper. I guess we'll have more clarity once there are a few TD reports about.

The pricing is ok. Fiat needs to improve the A.S.S if they want to threaten Swift.
ABS should have been optional.
Lets wait and watch. All the Best FIAT!!

If we compare the given features of both SWIFT and STILE for any versions; some gizmos and goodies favour both models. And it is the preferential thinking of the customer that makes the difference.
But there are some solid practical things that gives weightage to a Palio.
1. Double Crank protection
2. Reverse gear lock
3. Double folding rear seats which gives you enormous amount of luggage space
4. More impotantly, you cannot lock your car with keys inside( unless you lock with your spare key)

Also, the rear wiper and defogger. Installing that on a Swift costs around 25k.

Ground Clearance (170mm) is the same in both Swift and Palio. Going into the nitty-gritty, How much more spacious is the Palio? And which has better seats, Legroom/Headroom, H-Points etc?

Hats off!
Exactly on the officially promised date of launch, it has happened. That's one very good step from FiAT. I'm pretty well impressed.
One thing for sure, FiAT has taken a clue or 2 from it's partner Tata in perfecting a vehicle launch. Each and every dealer was kept shut till date. :

There's nothing new to crib about this Palio. Everything is perfect. Prices, features and specs seems good. It could prove a good alternative to Swift and Getz if FiAT backs it's current lineup with better A.S.S and customer care.

This car will definitely improve the sales for FiAT. There's no doubt in that. Worst effected is going to be Getz CRDI with Hyundai's dubious marketing of their otherwise a very potential car.

Will wait for MF's initial TD report. Please do it tomorrow man!

Oh! Is it me who is posting?

I wonder why so many people here are making a hue and cry about the 6Nm lesser torque(on paper) in the Palio MJD. It is as if everyone extracts the maximum from their cars all day, everyday.

Someone wonders if it affects ride ? I believe he meant the feel of the car. How many people would be able to tell the difference, if at all there is?
Michael Schumacher is a name that comes to mind, but even he may be hard pressed.

I think both swift and palio will be the same power.Weight of palio is little bit lesser than swift. So dont cry on torque wieght will adjust that.
