I think it will sell in huge numbers, if TATA market it properly because of obvious palio quality.. Swift diesel is selling around 2500/month (to the full capacity)

As per the below link, its an equal JV between TATA and FIAT

Indigo diesel comes in at the price! Its already down because of Logan.

So, TATA will play it safe only! Else, Indica- Indigo will be blown away, as the 1.3 JTD is too good!

What I feel is since G Punto will take some more time to be manufactured in India, they decided to plonk the 1.3 JTD engine on to Palio Stile, not a bad idea though!

Only thing is those aspiring for G Punto will have to wait until 2009.
Hope they price Palio 1.3 JTD around 5 lacs, will give Swift D & Getz D a run for its money!

yes 1.3 is the diesel engine (finally almost the power of 1.6 and economy of a indica), those guys were like dont buy the 1.1 wait for 2 months you'll get the 1.3 which is much better , the FIAT guys done seem to like the idea of TATA making cars in their facility.

one thing i am happy is that when this car is launched there would be increase in sales and spares issues would be solved finally ( i am hoping).

Guys !! i am sure it would be Palio 1.3 Multijet diesel and not petrol

And i heard that Indica will also have that same FIAT 1.3 multijet engine but yes quite possible that pricing of Palio D would be around 30 - 40K higher than the Indica D.

Why not?AFAIK, the Swift D retails for about 5.6 - 5.8 On road.
Because thats a Swift and thats a Maruti so it can be priced that much. For the Palio Diesel, anything above 5L OTR will kill the product, trust me.

Nobody has trust in Fiat and nobody will want to pay premium. I was looking to buy a GP, but poor resale value of Fiat cars has made me stick with Swift Petrol.

And Fabia, Getz, GP whatever launches for whatever price, Swift Diesel will always be un affected and make my words for that.

Thats 4 years delay, by that time the New GP should have arrived, why are Fiat so slow man

The Palio stile looks are well proportioned & really appealing for a hatch, 1.3 MJD will be a craze among Bhpians ( so many threads on Swift Diesel suggest so)
I expect the price between 4.35 - 4.90 lacs for different trims.

This is exciting. I would happily go for it if its priced around 5L OTR and then spend leftover in getting it Pete'd. You get class leading ride/handling/steering feedback and all topped up by excellent FE which was the only chink in the Palio's armour.

Mmmm looks like my next car

Actually, two things with great fan following here are coming together.

Mixing the Palio, with the 1.3 JTD (1.3 DDiS in Swift). And am sure it will equate to better sales! But the sales will depend on pricing and the way TATA promotes it.

Guys, just hoping. What if it had a 90 bhp VGT?

I will buy the Palio 1.3 JTD even if its priced the same as Swift Diesel, but I am sure it will be priced atleast 50k lower... Come on FIAT!

these guys are waiting for the auto expo it seems, FIAT guys were like the car is ready for launch... i suppose after the V3 is launched the palio 1.3 would be launched ... lol else the V3 will be left in show... but seriously how can they charge 5.5 ?? if a 1.1 is available for 3.9 then a 1.3 should be available for 4.5 max.

why are my posts not getting approved :(

If this new Fiat Palio 1.3 is a MJD AND priced below 5.5L, then hold your breath folks, we've one more Taxi in the making...
IMHO, Fiat should price it at par with the Swift Diesels, i.e. around 5.5 or more. Else, sooner or later it'll run on the tracks of Indica(no hard feelings!), and'll have many Palio Owners frowning...
