If Fiat had this tech since 2003 why did they have to wait 4 years to bring it to India, that too after Maruti

I called up the showroom (rf motors, cochin), to enquire about the palio diesel, and he said that it would hit the roads only in december 2008!
any truth in that? I've heard from this forum that it is expected in feb!

It seems that Showroom people are not able to differentiate between Palio 1.3 JTD and Punto. Its sure that Palio 1.3JTD will be launch in Feb-March'08. Punto will be launched in Dec'08 or Jan'09.

They(Fiats) didn't knew whether Multijet would work in India or not because of Fuel quality in India after Maruti's DDiS success Fiat is like anyways Fiat always considered Indians as third world country so it never took us seriously

The base Model Palio 1.3 MJD at 4.50 lakh ex showroom is spot on compared to 4.80 lakh Swift base Diesel

And if its going to be launched in March end then booking should start by next week .

Why are swift prices with immobilizer (BS III) more expensive than the standard (BS III) version.

Hi drkhalsa,

Anytime buddy , I was about to book the Verna CRDi ABS till I heard about the Palio MJD. I just hope that FIAT will not ruin the palio by not loading all the necessary goodies that it misses compared to the competition Fingers crossed.

Will keep everyone posted as and when I get any news from FIAT INDIA

regards,
Sajan

I think ex-showroom includes the transport costs from their ware house to selling point.
