I guess it should be priced at 4.75 ex-showroom Delhi at least for base model. Swift stands no where to palio for the comfort and sturdy body which fiat guarantees along with better road presence.

Too early to state that, we dont yet know how the palio body will take to the MJD powerplant. All we can do is anticipate.

Maybe thats why its taking so long to launch, to fix up the car just fine.
Well, if 11th March is the release date, not much longer to wait now.

To sell in good numbers they should price it very competitively. If they
price it around 4.3-4.5 ex showroom it might sell. If it comes below 5L
on road it surely has a good chance of doing better than what they target.
Just hope they dont screw up with the price. And Build Quality of Palio
is way better but they have to improve their service & A.s.s.

Well if Palio can take the 1.9 Litre diesel, multijet would be a cake walk.

I think he was referring to the torque. 1.9 had a torque of 12.2 whereas 1.3 multijet will have a torque of 19+. The engine bay should very easily take 1.3 multijet engine.

Palio already has a 1.6 with 13.XX kgm and 100 bhp's. Besides its not a question of power or torque, the 1.3 JTD is much lighter and more powerful.

To all Fiat Palio owners,

Do you feel the same about the second gear shift that i do?

I feel changing to second gear from first, is not easy in the Palio. You have to push the lever hard to your left and then pull it down.

I have had lot of occasions when i put 4th gear instead of second.

Am i alone who felt this?

Well, I guess i did not say it well. Let me rephrase.

What i said is, the second gear slot does not fall in line with the first gear slot, which makes you push the lever to the left and pull it inside the slot of second gear.

If you take the gear lever straight down from the first gear, [pull it down effortlessly,] it will go and place itself in 4th gear slot.

I 'm not saying this as a problem, but the design itself.

I haven't had any issues that you talk about. Palio's gears are butter smooth IMO. I rate the shift action much better then on my SX4.

Wouldn't that happen in any car?
