Its indeed great news. Hope the car is designed to be durable and would last longer meeting all the specifications.
What would the diesel mileage be like ?

The article says that they are made with more plastics to reduce waits. no bolts and hi-tech weldings. Since the article compares to M800 for acceleration, i wonder if this would be as safe as M800. But 25kmpl is so cool... Sure that autowalas will give a think for this.

I am sure it will be a safe car. If they have put so much into emission standards and fuel economy there is no reason they would have ignored safety.

Waiting for Autoexpo, Jan 10, 208!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That 's a great news. 25 KMPL with M800 acceleration is really good.

Its certainly nice to see the 25KMPL but definitely it will be no match in design, minimal safety and durability to the existing lot of different segments. But I personally feel that autowallahs, cabbies and ofcourse many potential and existing two wheeler customers will definitely spare a thought and get the machine.

Gosh! Just imagine the roads with such a bait from Tata's , I guess all the indian roads will now be clogged to the core adding more woes to the existing traffic problems.

Kudos to Tata Engineers

...Mr Mashelkar said: “The way their engineers have been able to design it and style it to meet specifications — it is absolutely incredible."

Hats off guys. You have made India proud. Can't wait to buy the car.

The news from original poster says....

It’s an eco-car with a 25 km-per-litre mileage on petrol, meets every international standard and specification, including Euro-4 norms.
