it is not intended to offend any one. it is just my feelings.

some of the criticism on this car from TATA phrased as lighter vein etc etc is not proper
i would like to know from all those guys whose poke fun at this car

which indian car upto 10-12 lakhs has Xenons as standard fitment?

which indian car sold up to 4-5 lakhs especially entry versions has central locking? or
climate control? or
both side OVRM's? or
rear disc brakes but not drum brakes?

many of the car sold in the 4-5 lakh category does not have both side OVRM's,
even high end versions does not have internally adjustble OVRM's
none of the entry versions of A segment cars has AC or Power steering
then why single out this car especially when one is not even sure about it's spec's

what was the HP of maruti 800? is it 100 HP or more?
don't criticise some thing which we have not seen or known.

Very valid points. Totally agree there.
It may or may not satisfy everyone, but it will definitely change the dynamics of the Industry.

Totally Agree with you both. Especially because some has put his reputation and his company's future on this project.

+1 for the same, adding to the same... atleast someone has stepped forward, tried something out of the league and thought of general public rather then introducing another indigo XL part 2 or something like that, and addressing a definitive customer.

Kudos to Mr. Ratan Tata !!

I am in full agreement here. Making fun of somebody is very simple. There would be lacs of people you will find who can make fun of something but how many you find you can build something on own, may be few hundreds or Tens. There is no point to join MSIL, Hyundai for making fun of TATA.
MSIL, Hyundai became BIG only where there was no body to compete.
TATA started making cars, when Honda, Toyata, Hyundai, Merc, Ford, MSIL were already there in market. They definately are not at par with Honda, Toyata, Hyundai. For Honda, Toyata or Hyundai took 40 -50 years to make the cars we see today. If you compare that with TATA, they are rocking, no doubt about it. TATA learnt many things too fast. We must appriciate them.

Well waiting for pictures of this car and the specifications of it. Cant wait till tommorow and so may be the case with MSIL officials. It will spell doom in case it clicks. Also all the bike manufacturers will be hoping that it doesnt click!!
Well lets wait and watch

Well, what if Maruti slashes M800 price to about 1.5 lac (Im sure they have the ability to do it)...people will go with the tested M800 for 1.5lac rather than a stripped down TATA for 1lac

That would also depend on how the Tata car delivers on FE - if it give 25 kmpl in city driving conditions, it could well beat the 800. If they somehow come up with a diesel variant, the story could get very interesting.
