Woweeeeeee! Lot better thane expected. Only points that were missing from the guesses were a diesel engine and CVT box! Nevertheless this is a trend setter and it has paid to start from scratch rather than a chopping-off approach. Hope they keep the quality aspect as well.

Tata has to continue on this and come up with newer and better variants and fill the market with everything between the nano base model and the indica! Now every other manufacturer will be scratching their head and what not!

Tata's are speeding away with the Nano, new versions of Indigo, Indica, possible acquisition of land rover, jaguar.. amazing! They have done India proud beyond any doubt!

Commendable effort and heaven help our streets. If one car removes two bikes of our streets, i am happy.

I guess, I will buy one for my daughter when she comes of age if required

Listen to this gem from the M800 makers - “We have arrived at a decision that with the current regulations on safety and emission, we are not capable of manufacturing a car which would cost as low as Rs 1 lakh . Further the Maruti 800 at its current price is the cheapest that we can offer right now and there is no room for us to discount this price,” said Maruti Suzuki India Ltd managing director Shinzo Nakanishi.
The only way they can discount further is by making the engine optional. Or, they need to get back to the drawing board.

Hmm, you have answered yourself. If anyone lacks a sense of humour, then everything meant to be in a lighter vein will seem to be nonsense.
Sorry, I can't help you.
Lighter vein is lighter vein and nothing else!!

Can anyone provide the link of the official launch- (video) by any news channel?
