Also, I am happy that they haven't launched a CVT version of this car.

That means the potential drivers will at least learn how to change gears before stepping on to the road !!

I think TATA have done a good job designing the central instrument panel. By putting it much higher than the steering wheel, it does not seem like too much of a distraction to look down a bit at the speedo.

EDIT: Since its a RWD, I guess there is no differential (??). What's that disc shaped component (protruding below the rear bumper) in the last picture?

Hats off to Ratan Tata for taking up the challenge & giving us the Cheapest Car. Well now if this car is successful the resale price of all entry level cars like Alto, Santro, M800 with take a beating IMHO

Quote:
1. The 624 cc engine. How will it perform on ghat roads and long drives? Will it have the legendary reliability of the 800 cc engine of M800?

2. Safety: Looks like the front seat occupants do not have much protection in case of a head-on crash. Bonnet space is pretty small.
There are many who hardly venture out of the City & this car suits them perfectly.

I think its safer than the Omni which is registering decent sales

All latest cars are using the cab forward design so less bonnet space doesnot mean that lesser safety.

Dont worry johy, car valuation is based on the engine power, total comfort, space and the condition of body and engine when you sell it. Offcourse your fear is true with any second car resale value. M800 might replace the resale value of fiat cars (below 25k) and all others will drop its value for sure.

One can forsee the total ban of vehicles to the heart of most cities, permitting only pedestrians to move around (same case with most developed cities). High networth employees of New York and many similar cities walk 50% more than an average indian manager of any sort. Such changes will facilitate health of our citizens which is good.

Hey guys, how much are you planning to sell your WagonRs for? I don't mind picking 'em up for around 1.5 lac each

90 KPH top speed (claimed) and rear-engined...rear-wheel-drive then?

With such a top-speed we will never see this on the highway (which is nice)

This car even gets beige interiors.

Just go to the site and you con cofigure the car with features like Alloy Wheels(many designs), and stripes, etc.

The rear looks a bit like the Indica.

The headlamps like the spark, the overall design like the Mitsubishi iCar.

This is a gaint step for the indian automotive industry and an even bigger step in traffic increase!

Our Gujju bhai's are probably calling it "Tata Naaano(small)"

Time to go bullish on automobile companies, and bearish on pharma/health care companies. eh??
