Will it be available today also. I just want to take a look. I have also started seeing Palio Multijet in my office parking. Good sign for Fiat.

Fiat's PR is evidently good.
However, their track record, management, servicing issues, network and general attitude leaves a lot to be desired.
Unfortunately, while they came into India in an upgraded avatar thinking that the Indian consumer's long association with FIAT would help carry them through, we 've all seen the mess that they made.
In fact I dont think I d be wrong in saying that you will probably see more of the dear old Fiat Cabs and older cars - Premier Auto Padminis etc that you see FIATs UNO's, PALIO's, SIENA's, ADVENTURE's etc on the roads, which is in a way, a testimony to FIAT Auto's inefficiency. Sad, but true.
If someone were to do a census, this fact could possibly emerge.

Didnt like the alloys on the GP. So it confirmed that the Linea will come with the 1.3 Ltr engine? Atleast the spec sheet that Chetan has got hold of, says 1.3 ltrs

Me and My dad had been Concorde Motors, Bangalore. We enquired for a fiat 1.6 sports. The dealer said Fiat 1.6 Sports is being phased out and he had only one single piece and didn't want to sell it to us 'cos it would be difficult to find spares later.

Is this true? Can anyone confirm?

probably they will be using 1.4 96bhp version as shown in specs of punto.

as tata-fiat will be producing 1.2 and 1.4 engines in a large numbers they might use them in palio also along with indica and punto

meanwhile looking at punto specs the length of punto is more then 4 meters so it will not get excise benefit in 1.3 mjd version also along with the petrol 1.4 engine

The punto is only marginally bigger than the 4 meter excise duty bar.
Even a minor bumper modification can make it eligible for the excise benefit.

Y'day I had been to the GM Dealer Vijay Auto for TD'ing the Magnum. At that time I asked the sales person about a diesel for the Aveo. He said that it will be launched sometime end of this year. He said that even the UVA will have the same engine. He also said that there will be 11 models (across manufacturers) who will be using the same 1.3L MJD. He said that even Hyundai has got some tie up with Fiat and is trying to get this engine for their Getz and i10. Dont know how far it is true. Anyone has any ideas?

Good find there Chetan. Interesting thing is that the turning radii of both Punto and Linea are less than that of Palio .

Hyundai already uses one of the best diesel engines around the world built by Detroit diesels (which owns some part of Hyundai).
