The Petrol higher-end on the road price was mentioned around 7.5 lacs. So there is a difference of 1Lac between the petrol and diesel version.
oh.ok.thankyou. so basically its priced at 8.5 coz very few people will buy the petrol variant, i think. diesel is always a better deal, right?

Again depends on the life style of the person who is buying the car. If the person who is buying this car does not drive as much to justify to go with Diesel which costs more than petrol and also one has to compromise on the ride quality because diesel vibrates more than petrol.

The petrol is simply smoother and more powerful compared to the diesel.

If one is planning to keep too much mileage on the car then Diesel might be a better option to save money in the long run.

I am disappointed with the color selection offered in India. I wish they would have offered the tangerine orange, flamenco red metallic and Dynamic blue uni as well. I think they charge extra for these colors in Europe.

The new Skoda Fabia - Feel Special

If they price this Fabia right then I can see the trouble looming for almost all the companies out there until they come up with equivalent model.

I would love to hear what BUSA has to say now about the Fabia. :-)

Haha, well i love Skodas rock solid build, let the car get launched, a test drive is enough to know how the car is.

Also looking at all the features i am quie sure Skoda will launch a higher variant of the Fabia, one the LnK with leather and all and another RS with a 120bhp diesel.

P.S Features look fantastic

If they price it right then there is going to be a Remapped Fabia.

Suspect that it might include the word "Pete's"

My expectation is that the Fabia will be much more heavily built. Those who are out for zippiness may well prefer the Swift.

For many though, including myself, performance is not a major issue in the choice. However, customer service, service availability, cost of parts etc may very well be.

What an absolutely utterly dreadfully crappy horrible website!

It began with my most hated features:

...slow loading inescapable flash intro.

...unwanted music.

a new one: asking me to input my name! It must have been designed by some nerd that just graduated from telephone sales. "Good morning Mr Thad, How are you today I'd love to tell you about our new......" (sound of phone being put down).

I would have just loved to have taken a look around, seen pics of the interiors, read the spec... but sorry, Skoda, I'm not prepared to wait minutes for your manic designers graphics to finish loading. In fact, in the end, I had to close firefox to escape from the damn thing.

Will these people never learn that internet is not television?

Speaking as someone whose purchasing experience tends to include long periods of internet pondering, it enough to put me off!

Anyway, here's my smiley ration for the post. Sorry about the rant.

Looks like the car is stuffed with loads of features. Skoda Auto is surely going to change the way in which small cars are been perceived in India, especially the premium small hatch segment.
