So I only hope Skoda prices it sensibly so I can also buy one. Else I am happy with a Verna.
With all these features do you think fabia can fix a price in between 5.50L and 6L?

No they cannot - But then 8 Lacs is Exorbitant !!!

7 Lacs - 7.25 Lacs OTR for top end would be more appropriate.

Jerish, Let's be a bit realistic. Expensive hatch phenomenon is yet to catch up here in our country. Most of the BHPIANs are yet to gulp this in.
The looks of this car is LoVE it or HaTE it kind. Some like it while others hate it. Interiors are plain jane to many. The price in speculation is way above the indian standards.
These things will definitely make any customer think twice and thrice about this car.

The good things are also unforgettable. Good build quality (not something out of this world or so... But better than many. That's all). Great fuel efficiency (promised). Lots of new features in the category. And a brand name which maybe loved and as well as hated by many.

Let's wait for the official price to be announced.

I have just returned from Continental Automobiles, Mathura RD New Delhi.

They have 4 fabia's on display there.

2 white(elegance), a black(elegance) and a silver(classic).

The car looks quite big from the outside however a little small on the inside.

As a mattter of fact the rear leg room when the front seat pushed all the way back is more or less the same as one would find in the swift.

The white car has all black interiors(looks really sporty and cool) wheras the black has beige interiors (classier looking than the black) as seen in the red one in the pictures posted here.

There are no test drives although i did start the diesel engine and it was rather noisy inside the showroom(not a good way to judge.)

The salesperson suggested pricing between 6-8 lakhs with no specific details.

And delivery can be had by the 15th of this month if booking was made today.

Anyone around the area can go have a look at it.

The problem is they are giving us a crappy engine. You know why the Verna sells so much with no features at all, its because of its fantastic engine.

@ JK - 7.5L OTR Bombay is the price of the Fusion or as you said Focus

Going through the standard equipment list I dont think too many people will really want to go for the top end version as even the basic version is pretty loaded, Ofcourse the topend version has all the toys in it but its not like the basic version has nothing.

I am guessing the Elegance will be around atleast 60k premium over the Ambiente version. Most buyers will not find it worth spending the extra 60k for the following.

1) Sun Roof
2) Projector Headlamps
3) Parking Sensors
4) Multi Information Display

I was referring to the Classic version which IMO has quite a bit of equipment too.

I was told about the same from the dealer where I made the booking. He mentioned there will be 60K difference in price between the Ambiente and the Elegance variants. He in fact recommends Ambiente as he thinks Sun Roof is a waste in India.

Pricing

Talked to Skoda Dealer in Mumbai(Autograph).
The manager said pricing is not officially conveyed but his guess is:

Petrol (5.5L and 6.2L)
Disel (6.3L and 7.25L)

Car will be available for TD on 9th Jan

It depends on the kind of buyer, some might even get tempted to buy this car for these extra features.

Busa - Crappy or fantastic - diesel cars will be sold as they have the image of being very FE. And in India - say about 50000 people (well informed) know the difference between a CRDi and a non CRDi diesel engine - what about the rest who buy diesels ?
