I called up the Skoda showroom here in hyderabad today and following is what they told me:

1. On display in the showroom on 10th.
2. 1.4D being launched now, 1.4P coming in a month or 2.
3. 1.4D to be launched in classic, ambiente and elegence variants.
4. 1.4P to be launched only in ambiente and elegence variants.
5. Hyderabad on-road prices are 7.3L(classic), 8.3L(ambiente), 8.86L(elegence)

I think they are over-pricing the baby.

Yes, I think in that price bracket, there are so many other cars that can beat this easily.

This is but just couldn't resist contradicting the above comments. Hyundai makes good, VFM and reliable cars only in the B & B+ segments mate. The moment they step into the C-segment and above, they are lost. Look what happened to the Elantra, the Sonata and the Tuscon...

should that not have happened by now? today is the 9th. in most probabilities it gets launched tomorrow. when on earth will the official announcement come? anyone here who has the kind of clout to find out the accurate prices-would be reallly helpful.
the problem is i cant just book it like that. need somewhat estimates to decide whether or not to go for it-although i think ill go for it no matter what but still. its a corporate responsibility to divulge details to your potential customers.

by the way, i might just go to the auto expo. the skoda press conference is scheduled perhaps for tomorrow or the day after...one of these days...but i'm not sure exactly which one!

Let me go there n I'll keep u guys updated...

The elantra had to battle the City and now the Civic, the sonata had the accord and the tucson the CR-V.
