Chevrolet Tahoe

Todays Economic Times (Bangalore Edition) carried a Chevrolet Ad with the pic of Tahoe on it with the GM helpline number for a test drive. On calling, the guy at the other end has "NO" clue what Tahoe is.

On prodding he said he will ask some to call me back. Does any of the fellow BHPians have any clue on this ???

Chevy Tahoe is a GIANT. Don't think GM will ever launch it here. They always post pics of their US models in ads here. No idea why!

All GM ads here have a US model. They are not coming to India. It's just an ad for the chevy brand name.

Hehe Tahoe is a huge SUV even in the US. In india, it'll be classified as a truck :P. Also the fuel bills will be monstrous.

Yeah all are right - both on Tahoe and GM

You all are right - Chevy Tahoe is a big monstrous SUV (well folks there also call it a truck!!!), and GM does use their US vehicles on their ads in India. Once got suckered into calling the number to test drive a Sequel - which is a hybrid car that they are launching in the US - thinking that hybrids are starting to be available in India!!!!

Missed out the link to the ad which appeared in the news paper ....

Kinda surprizing that GM uses such gimmicks for marketing. Possibly has the most in-efficient marketing team around .....
