Swift DDiS for that amazing new engine (for us). Its going to (and actually managed Hyundai to plonk the Verna's diesel in Getz) change a lot of performance paradigms for the diesel engine for the small car.

Would loved to see the Dicor 2.2 on this poll though. (Though it wouldn't have got my vote)

Both Swift diesel and Safari DiCOR 2.2 should be counted as new versions of existing cars only.

Would be funny if team-bhp car of the year is awarded to a decade old car.

And the poll is not propoerly put, there is no Safari 2.2 not Getz CRDi, if it should be only new models launched this year then i dont see why the Swift should be here, it is COTY 2006

If a new engine warrants for the car contending in the COTY awards, then the Indica will be there every year

Exactly!! I hadnt put the Swift in as an option when I created the poll, I dont know who added it later.

I agree. The Swift is not a new car, and if it is so the Getz CRDi, the Optra Magnum, the VTT Dicor and the Mhawk should feature on the poll.

Please remove the Swift from the poll and add a LAST DATE for the poll to close, mentioning the same on the title.

We cannot have an open-ended COTY poll.

I had requested one of the mods to close this poll after a month so we can declare a winner then, Is it possible for me to remove the Swift from the poll or does a mod have to do it?

I think it should be the SX4 for its VFM and defining the segment status..
Swift DDIs is there too, but since its a variant of an existing car, cannot be there.

You could use REPORT POST feature.

guys, swift ddis, how can that be the car of the year, its the same old car with a diesel engine, i dont think that should be in the list. there are already plenty of other new cars launched in 2007, then why include swift DDIS?

I thought it would be a close fight btw SX4 and Logan, but surprisingly no-one voted for Logan so far!

I voted for SX4, it gave NHC and Fiesta a run for its money!

Actually, the Swift DDiS should have been in the poll from the start, along with Getz CRDi, Scorpio mHawk and Safari 2.2.
You can't be so unfair to these cars just because they have a different engine. In driving dynamics, the Swift DDiS is much different from a Petrol Swift, so how can you call it the 'same old car' ?

Look for yourself how many votes the Diesel Swift has got!

Oh if its only about the exterior design only which matters while judging the car of the year, then pardon me.

P.S. We should also have a poll about how many want Swift DDiS to be removed, and how many want Safari,Getz,Scorpio new versions to be added as well along with Swift.
