Poll: Which brand of fuel (petrol or diesel)?

Alright, after hearing about Shell normal petrol and diesel are stopped and only premium versions are supplied by Shell, thought of conducting this poll to see if TBHPians prefer Shell premium or any other.

I filled Shell premium petrol few times for my car, but didn't find big difference over normal one.

Please rate them in terms of:
- good for engine
- better FE
- smooth operation
- pump outlet discipline in terms of correct quantity and quality, etc

Please also mention pump outlets you would consider visiting.

Didn't give premium option for others, do we need?

Question: Which of these you'll consider to fill fuel for your car?
1. Shell premium
2. HP
3. IOC
4. BP
5. Reliance
6. Speed
7. Others

For my bike, I found HP petrol to be better. The HP pump near St. John's hospital was very good, next good one was near Marathahalli bridge (near Brand factory).

I changed to the indian oil bunk on St. Marks road, Bowring one. SO far no change in mileage and performance.

We have no shell here in TVM. And reliance is just too expensive. So sticking with BP normal petrol for bike, and BP speed for car.

Back here in Pune, I would vouch for BP - COCO opposite RTO. I have been filling Speed in my car and bike for more than 3 years now. Good experience. Mileage and performance has remained constant.

Can also try Power from HP on old Mumbai-Pune highway ahead of Indira college, Wakad. Cheaper by a few rupees compared to the city.

I dont think there's too much difference betw Shell or IOC or BP.... for that matter. All of them attempt to keep their quality superior and unadultrated. I think very often its a matter of convenience. (Petrol pump near home or office or enroute....) For me its IOC coz I dont need to pay surcharge on my Citibank Card.

BP opposite to Manipal hospital on Airport road is good quality petrol. But the service is not so great and even the air filling assistance has some attitude issue!!
I used to fill there before I moved on the Whitefield Shell. Its time to go back to that place now.

I have used Reliance, IOC-XP and BP-Speed on a regular basis. My own order of preference is Reliance, IOC and BP, even though I most buy BP due to having known the dealer for almost 30 years. Nearest Reliance is over 10km further out of town, and is thus a non-no. However, whenever travelling to Lucknow I make it a point to tank up with Reliance.

In Mumbai we dont option of Shell fuel, however i was eagerly waiting that Shell get here, now with them discontinuing normal fuels, i am no longer waiting for their arrival.

I have been using IOC Regular for my Swift, and will continue to do so. For Petrol i use IOC Xtra Mile Only.

HP for me. I'am filling this from past 6~8 months near my house on B'ngr main road. The mileage and performance is as good as premium petrol.

The shell bug hasn't left me as yet. Just filled up today at Shell .

Dint want to take the trouble this year (thats Dec 31st, 2007) to find a decent pump. Come Jan and I think I will stick to IOC. Goodbye Shell .

I have been travelling quite a lot, and have realised that Reliance and Bharat have been consistent in delivering quality. I have had bad experience with HP when my car performed the worst till I refueled from Bharat.

Shell is not here in north India.
