the maruti 1000 and esteem were good looking cars. but the current generation esteem is extremely ugly. no offence meant to it's owners.

I echo your thought on this one but really dont think it qualifies to be extremely ugly.

How is the current gen esteem any different from the Maruti 1000 apart from a few cosmetics here and there?

IMO Esteem is one car that actually looked better with every cosmetic upgrade.

The difference is precisely on the cosmetics and nothing more. (Of course the Maruti 1000 had a 1 litre engine and the Esteem a 1.3 litre one with carb and MPFI versions).Never in the wildest of my dreams would I ever associate the word 'ugly' with the Esteem.

What I tried to convey in my earlier post was that though the previous gen esteem looked better, the current one was not all that bad. And that is purely my personal opinion.

Scoop pics of the Swift Dezire from Carwale.com. A person called SriVsh has posted it. Due credit for the person. No stealing images.

Is it just me or does the headroom in the rear seats seem less?

The car looks fine IMO. Just that they could have made some changes to the front to differentiate it from the hatch Swift.

This is plain UGLY. I wish Maruti had been more creative in designing the rear. Atleast they could have changed the tail lights

The rear lights look like a mirror image of the front headlight

It is just like I was expecting it to be: out-of-proportion! They really should have made some changes to the front and that short wheelbase doesn't help matters either. It looks like they've just glued the boot onto the swift.

I don't know if others feel too but IMO the rear leg space of the swift is very less. This car doesn't seem to have fixed that either. Or have they increased the wheel base a bit.

Soon all fat and tall cars on the road. I liked low profile cars.
