a vital feature they should include is electric ORVM's... this feature is present in lower models like wagonr than why not swift, atleast in the zxi. ya, one more thing, bigger tyres with 15" alloys, and better looking than the old ones.

15" rims as stock would require changes to the suspension. remember that roads in a lot of small cities are much worse than the metro's. in such a scenario, 15" rims would cause problems with the stock suspension. i don't think volumes on the ZXI justify a suspension modification

Agree on the electronic ORVM's though - seems a little silly that the WagonR VXI has them and the Swift ZXI doesnt. Also the better looking alloys

the one you saw might be an after market fitment.its confirmed that no side indicators are mounted on the orvm-even on zxi.there is no electric control for the orvms too.thats a sad point as it would have been more convinient to adjust the left mirror atleast in zxi.
the car is launched and delivered right from jan 15th onwards.a whole lot of cars on road now.

Vdi is the variants in Swift Diesel.Ldi,Vdi
DDis is the technology term behind the Diesel Engines like Crdi in Hyundai and PD in Skodas.

Thanx Karthik.

AFAIK, no variant of the Swift is sold with an integrated stereo in India.

new ZXi is coming with steering mounted stereo controls like the SX4, thats y i asked about the stereo because i don't think they will give the control switches for after market stereo and getting them work together will be PITA

The facelifted Swift ZXi has integrated stereo with steering mounted controls like in the SX4 Zxi. Commonality of parts once again.

Just to confirm the difference between Swift Zxi and SX4 Zxi is:

1. Sedan bodystyle
2. Internally electric adjustable rear view mirrors in SX4.

Thats it? About 3 lacs more for just these features?

PS: I left out 16" tyres of the SX4 since a Swift owner can get these from after market.

the price of Swift Zxi is 5.14 and SX4 ZXi is 7.12 (ex-showroom chennai), so the price difference is 2 lacs

and platform sharing doesn't mean everything on the car is same ie Swift and SX4, i think SX4 is excellent value for money.
