Very nice scoop. Does anyone else see line of the Honda element \ FJ cruiser here? Esp. the rear quarter pannels?

Also - from this pitcture the finish looks to be of high quality. Nice shutlines and no awkward pannel gaps. Give Tata another generation or two and you should see them at the Korean \ Jap level.

M-S, thank you !

Will have to see it in steel before I can say anything about which one I like better - my Victa or this new styling. But, they seem to have taken care of a few things. Hope they get it right, the first time.

this looks so neat would be a much better buy than scorpio/safari as it costs half the price of those 2 (if its the new sumo)

This looks really good and it seems to have been developed on the Xenon platform. The rear looks pretty neat with nicely contoured bumpers, it really blends in.

Wonder what engine they have plonked in the front?

Hey MillionSwords, great scoop dude! It has to be the Sumo. And I don't think it will be named anything else. Tatas have named the SuMo after Sumant Moolgaonkar. So, most likely they will retain the name.

BTW, look nice. Looks like they are moving a little away from the people-mover image towards the likes of Scorpio and Innova.

too good for a next gen sumo

The fit and finish in the picture looks too good for the next generation Sumo / utility vehicle category.
Also it looks elongated and relatively low slung compared to the existing sumo

Could this be the next generation Safari ( code named X2 ) which is also
due in late 2008

....Just an after-thought

Cheers

Looking at the new design and the panel gaps makes me feel that there is quite a lot of quality improvement from Tata this time.

Is that the ladder frame chassis below the car in white?? if yes, it looks bad it naked

Interesting

This may spell the end of the present Bolero. Either the fuel flap is on the left side or Tata has thoughtfully supplied Sam with a tweeter door. I do not see any rain gutters. I do not see any servicable bumpers.

looks better proportionated than the any tata SUV/MUVs. There are a lot of borrowings from Pajero's design atleast from side. But, the problem with Tatas are with their reliability. How this is going to perform in that area is a big question.

thanks guys.
The mods have uploaded the photos after watermarking, and the image-size is reduced to a large extent. I posted full screen size images!

Anyway, if what you guys see is good enough - cool. Hope the photographs stay with us inside TBhp and not travel to personal blogs and other forums!

Cheers,
MS
