It has now further expanded its diesel portfolio with the launch of its latest common rail diesel offering- the Indica V2 DICOR.

The car features a water-cooled 1.4 L direct injection common rail (DICOR) diesel engine with exhaust gas recirculation and an oxidation catalyst with a turbocharger and an intercooler. This in turn results in an enhanced output of 70 PS @ 4000 rpm and an increased torque of 140 Nm @ 1800-3000 rpm, resulting in excellent pick up and a superior overall driving experience. The DICOR engine also ensures linear power delivery from the start and up to 15% better fuel efficiency. The tall aggressive stance is complimented by large clear headlamps, and a cutaway air dam in the front. The clean rear look, with the spare wheel tucked under the body, is accentuated by attractive tail lights and a chrome overlay.

Designed with a longer wheelbase of 2550 mm (existing 2400 mm), the Sumo Grande sports comfortable 3 row seating with best in class third row seats. Beige interiors are complimented by fire and stain resistant fabric upholstery. Dual HVAC with roof integrated louvers ensures personalised climate adjustment for the occupants in each row. For a vehicle its size, the Sumo Grande is extremely manoeuvrable with the turning circle radius of 5.25 m, similar to a small car.

The Sumo Grande will be available in 3 variants – Lx, Ex and Gx -- all of which have two seating configurations – 6+1 and 7+1. The vehicle will be available in 7 colours, including 4 new shades, Sunset Orange, Zephyr Green, Mineral Red and Marine Blue. Is this the same engine as on the Swift and soon to be available on Palio?

The petrol engine is a newer one from Tata or the XETA engine itself?

And what happened to the new Indigo Sedan, it was supposed to be launched as well?

And lastly any pics of the new Indica?

Kudos to TATA for these fetes in such short span of time(approx. 10 years) in passenger car segment.

It can the only Indian Company ( with local R&D divison support on most/mazority of the delivered products)dared dream such products and deliver ultimate VFM for Indian consumers.

We can see such a great reuse of objects from it:
-- 1.4 Engine -->( Indica, Indigo, ACE and their sub-variants in each products)
-- 3.0L Dicor -->(Safari, now it will goto 407 division)
-- 2.2L Dicor -->(Safari,Sumo)

All these designs(and startgeic lon vision) will make products cheaper (Win-Win for manufaturer and customer) & VFM cars.

How many other car-mfrs do these fetes ?

They are not mentioning anything about 4x4 being available on the Sumo Grande so that's a disappointment - else I think it could have given a few others a run for their money.

Mods, can we have 1 thread per new car from Tata please ? Otherwise the info will get scattered and it will be difficult to discuss.

Quadra Jet Common Rail? Sounds like an Italian coined that. Tata-Fiat partnership is expanding into many areas .

And the Petrol is going to be VVT?! Wow! VVT in a Rs.4 lac hatch?! Maruti are you seeing this? Even the 8 lac rupee SX4 doesn't get VVT!
