it wud be a gud car indeed. but if they really wanna sell. they should price it the grand vitara range. only then i think it would be a great buy. if suzuki can price the imported vitara for less then 14, then i think chevy can do the same.

Tushky, writing your name across the car won't do. It is very easy to clone it out and print the picture. You really need to watermark it in such a way that removing it is not possible to remove it.

what !!!! the new GV is under 14???
wish they had offered a diesel one at that price.

but if the chevy comes out with a deisel at that price, then the endy and the tucson will have some serious troubles also to some extent for the GV and CRV.

Going by the reports from you guys who have driven the magnum, the engine has great power and torque - perfect for a SUV - these are also two weakness of the GV. If the pricing is on similar lines as the GV, you will have a larger SUV than the GV & the Tuscon, superior engine to both and snob value wise, there's not much to choose between the three. Conclusion, if the top of the line Magnum OTR is around 11.5L - if the OTR for captiva is around 15L the other two better get their act together. I had heard sometime ago that the launch was supposed to be july, but got postponed. I wonder with the GV and the Endy launch, would they have reconsidered and bringing it earlier. Would anyone be able to comment on their plan capacities - would it have to CBU?

Besides - it can also be a 5 or a 7 seater - something that the GV and the Tuscon cannot do..

I think G.M better launch it early with a lot of publicity & big media hype as its promises to be the only diesel SUV/ soft roader in this segment, besides the tucson, which I didn't really like anyways.

May be G.M. can then sell more cars, their best selling model till date is optra, soon to be replaced by Spark.

yup,it will have the same 2.0ltr diesel power plant but will produce 150bhp instead of the 120 in the optra magnum.

and thats going to be one hell of a competition to the other soft-roaders and also to some extant for the SUVs.

I think it will also enter the minds of people looking for a 12-15 lakhs car.

Considering our driving conditions, poor lighting, broken roads / craters and lack of traffic discipline (especially on the highway), an SUV makes more sense in India than anywhere else. The average Indian family is also larger than more other countries, so the extra seating becomes a necessity for some.

Why Ajmat? It seems to have a good package on paper. 150bhp diesel engine, looks good, and seems spacious.

Seems to have decent features as well. I like teh centre display which show distance to empty AC settings and compass.

7 seater currently only the Endeavour offers. Will be good competition.

Endeavour for all practical purposes, is a 5 seater. The last row of seats is nothing but a cushioned mat on raised floor. Pajero's last row is quite bad as well, a bit better than Endy but still bad.

Not sure how would captiva's last row would be. If its floor is not as high as that of Endy or Pajero, it might be better.
