As of now it seems to be too much confusion with pricing and positioning of new Indica alongside Palio 1.3 MJD. May be people with clear mindset should approach the TATA dealer and just ask for FIAT products or TATA products if TATA is preset in their mind. A person who is looking for comparing both and thinking of deciding on one product may end up in confusion.

its just a facelifted car, not at all a reason to call it the new indica, (was expecting something radical, when i saw the name)

I know someone who used to work on the old Rover showteam. It was the teams job to make sure show cars were A1. Top polish, no fingermarks and certainly no door beading coming loose. What an utter disgrace from TATA. They may as well have not bothered.

Size: The new Indica is longer than the current version by 320mm. Width is 1695mm, height is a respectable 1550 mm, and the wheelbase has also been lengthened by 70mm to 2470 mm

The car will be offered with a new 1.3 litre Quadra-Jet Common Rail Direct Injection Diesel engine and a 1.2 litre Safire MPFI VVT Petrol engine, which will be manufactured at the new Tata-Fiat joint venture plant at Ranjangaon in Maharashtra, besides existing Tata powertrains."

FIAT would not be positioned for the masses. Indica X1 would offer much more VFM than Palio 1.3D. However, those who want the build quality can opt for FIAT.

Anyways, its time they take off the decade-old Palio in bring in the modern Linea/Punto.

If it is a facelifted car the diamensions should remain the same, but looks like this one is bigger than Indica (V2)

looks like the boot space is less compared to current Indica...

does the boot looks smaller than the current indica?

The stance is slightly Innova-like, and the headlamps are unnaturally big..... but I guess its still eye-catching.....

The C-pillar should have been wider to go with the overall shape of the car. Or the rear passenger window frame should have had a steeper rake.
The grille looks too large, maybe they could have extended the bonnet a bit further down.

Overall impression is "Not Bad" which I dont think is what Tata was looking for. The original IDEA Indica remains a favourite.

I think the build quality would have substantially improved, but will definitely would not be upto standards.
But anyways i think TATA will be able to sell this car no matter what.cheers:
