I guess Fiat should have gone the CKD route, at least for the Bravo.

Exactly... By this they could have keep the price in check.. And could have pulled more interest for Bravo... Anyways their RJ plant is not getting used upto expectations.. But CBU seems to be more TATA brain behind this..

Is it launched? Whats the source?

The site only says 'REGISTER INTEREST' which is pretty much what suzuki said when they tried to sell the 'Heat' by displaying the Hayabusa.

the price for the fiat 500 would be 10 lakh & the bravo will cost 20 lakh thanks to customs duty, fiat will sell these in limited on demand procedure , best to forget about these & bring the linea - fiat

it all depends on how fiat will price the Bravo, punto and the 500 in india and what features will they give for the price. i hope get the pricing right if they have to pull their socks in india.

This is too bad.Bravo pricing is too much i think it is because of duty. But in their site i cannot see the price.

They are not any way targeting big volumes. If you love the car, we will get it for you. This is the strategy of FIAT .

Reporting just after seeing all these monsters in flesh. It has been a disappointing day since I managed to screw two camera's. One being brand new with a stuck memory card :(.

Well coming to the news, Fiat is just doing a market survey and taking a market response on these cars. I spoke on a personal level to many Fiat executives that I know and here's the future launches that are scheduled:

- Fiat Palio 1.3 Multijet 75 bhp in Mar'08
- Fiat Linea 1.3 Multijet 90 bhp in May - June'08
- Fiat Grande Punto 1.3 Multijet 90 bhp in Sep-Oct'08
- Fiat 500 and Bravo will be only a limited edition launch and the launch to be decided only if they get a positive market response. While dancing around the cars a few folks asked me the price of the Bravo and I said 20 lakhs only to see people making stupid faces at me thinking I was mad . But they wouldn't know what a beauty that car is!!!

The Linea and Punto will be manufactured locally.

Palio will be priced about 50 - 70k cheaper than the Swift variants. Ladies and gentlemen we have a winner.

Here comes the Italian invasion. I'm impressed by the amount of trust they've shown in India, especially since none of their recent cars have sold quite well there.

Both are not launched. As of now Fiat has no products other than Palio, IMO they have tried to fill the website with few of their product details.

@ Busa no idea on pricing yet. They are localising majority of the content. Target is 65% ++

@ Maddy engine will be 1910 cc 150 bhp Multijet Diesel. The features will keep you drooling. I will post a brochure scan as soon as I locate a scanner. I am going tomorrow for pictures with a second brand new camera. This thing costed me a lot :(.

@ agbenny, I'd love to answer you but the FIAT has already spoilt your party. They are not only filling the website but also their stands with the expo crowd. You'd know soon.

Time for thread title change to 'FIAT collects customer interest for launch of Bravo/500'?
