Honda dont give us small engine and cut costs make it in India and price it at 15 lacks for a fully loaded 2.4 L car just like Honda accord, Honda and Toyota already have Assembly lines then why Camry and Crv not made here

True, it is 1.2L lesser than the 2.4L. It loses the AWD but the weight reduction is 70kgs. even with the smaller engine performance may not be that bad.

Features wise it loses the sunroof, 6cd changer and the outside temperature gauge().

Good Option

The Horse Power drops by 18bhp. And the car is lighter by 70kg, so the bhp/ton will be less by 9, i.e. if the 2.4 is 100bhp/ton, this will be 91bhp/ton.

Not bad considering the overall requirement of indian roads.

It will be the most sought after CRV.

I think worldwide it is i.e. 2.0 CRv is very famous.

2.0 pricing is way off IMHO. Infact, the 2.0 CRV makes an even stronger case for the Grand Vitara. The GV is just 120Bhp granted, but it weighs less and has AWD.

New Honda CR-V

Hi Guys,

Saw an ad in the newspaper about new Honda CR-V with 2.0 Ltr petrol engine. Whats ur take on it. Is it the same engine which used to power the older model CR-V?

what should be the fuel efficiency of this power-unit? Comparison with Tucson? ..as it may be closer to it in terms of pricing?

The 2.0L CRV is 17.2 Lakhs ex-showroom in Bangalore. I wish Honda competes with the likes of Tatas and Mahindras instead of playing niche. If the price reduces, the CRV will replace the Safaris and Scorpios. I am banking on Budget 2008

Would a change in filter and FF exhaust do the trick of bringing the power on par with the 2.4L? The additional cost of doing these mods may be less than getting a 2.4 version, though you may run into warranty issues with honda. Has anyone got a first hand experience in this?
