Has any dealer across India has got a Grande on display? I have called up Concorde in Hyderabad and they are saying that the display & TD vehicle may arrive next month.

I am surprised because i was expecting atleast the display and TD vehicles in first week of Feb.

Any comments!!!

I called up the showroom here in Mysore. They said it would be out in March 1st week.

I guess they are waiting for the budget...

Chennai VST Motors also indicates that the vehicle will come for display only in the first week of March eventhough it has reached their yard at Poonamallee. The brouchure for Sumo Grande and the Delhi ex-showroom price is available with them.

Display Vehicles are out, they have reached the Tata yards and will be available at the dealerships in 3-4 days. I havent seen the brochure but they have a beautifull calender featuring only Sumo Grande.

Check this site...black grande looks really grand. I am brought over...i think grande can be safari/scorpio killer if fit and finish/ride quality is good enough.

echoing the same as LLL.

Love the black grande, also think the Red one looks very good.
If I had the money to spare, a red grande would rest in my garage.

however: most of the pics on the website seem to be CGI and not the actual grande.

No Airbags and ABS, not even an option in the high end varient!!!
This is really bad, I read in some other thread that TATA to offer safety features across their entire range, it looks like it was not true :-(

WOW! the site is wonderful; just hope the product is too.

but looking at the specs and the options available, @ 7.5 lks ex-showroom in Bng, I feel this is a killer. Scoprio needs to run. Bolero will be dead!

but no ABS! not even on the top end! guess this is how they keep the price down!

I dont know how comfortable the rear most seats would be. The car is built on a wheelbase of 2550mm and the rear most seats are on the overhang, couple that with leaf spring suspension, the passengers would be tossed around on anything other than a perfect road.

Sure Tata has a winner combination for a family vehicle. Though I am still not sure if I would go in for a test drive but some of the useful features mentioned in it are far better than VLX MHawk also e.g. Driver seat height adjustment, lumbar support, electrically adjustable ORVMs. Such a value for money proposition in comparison with Safari VTT. The position of spare tyre also is more user friendly than the macho looking spare tyre position of Safari.

I guess now only serious SUV fans ( off roaders' for 4*4), power hungry bhpians and style conscious will go for Safari. Funny but I cant understand why they have not put pull type door handles in Safari while they have put it in Sumo Grande.

I have a hunch that Safari range also is likely to undergo scalpel for aesthetics ( definitrely more than the current radically designed spare wheel cover!). Anyone has any news about the new variants of Safari. Till then Grande is Winner.
