If you are looking for the best *deals*, November / December see dealers offering the most discounts, since everyone is holding their purchase for the next model year. For corporates & businesses, March is the time to buy to maximise depreciation benefits.

What about the impact of the budget and any of the WTO commitments on duty reductions (if any)? Any one tracking what is likely to happen or what the industry bodies are pitching for and got some reassurance from the Finance ministry?

This time will be a people friendly budget. I don't think the FM will raise any taxes or add any taxes in this budget. The customs duty will come down as per the agreement with WTO. Already there is lot of pressure on inflation and the govt does not want to put more pressure on the same.

Now, coming to point, Buy the cars nearer to the festivals like dusshera/diwali or during december where you will get the year end discounts.
