:OT
I was astounded to see a black Santro in front of me with Jharkhand registration which also listed its engine number and chassis number on the number plate.

I guess it wasn't a single driver car as there wasn't a driving licence number on the numberplate.

Trivia Question: Does Jharkhand require this listing?

The new number plates which are into effect pretty soon will have 3 plates on the car. One for front back and one sticker on the rear window. The sticker on the rear window is tamper proof and so are the number plates when tampered with , wil self destruct. Once in effect, the new cars will come with this plate and the old cars will have 2 years to get this number plate. It is supposed to cost a 1000rs or more.

Z Klasse

Wooo, how will the sticker and numberplate self-destruct?

Yeah.Wotevah Z said is true. And it is definately a good move.India needed this since a long time.A company by the name of ShimnitIndia has been authorised to make these license plates.U can read more bout the license plates here : Shimnit

but everything here depends on the lawenforcers aka police,if they are serious the autotheft can be reduced with current number plates
