Mini SUVs are the way to go. The urban crowd is definitely looking forward to one of the more dependant Mini SUVs. Considering the pedigree of M&M, the mini SUV would definitely make an impact.

I'm sure TATA and Maruti Suzuki would be upto something as well!

I am looking forward to three years of speculation on this thread. Else I hope mods can lock it till there is some firm news from Mahindra.

even 1500cc is fine, but should produce 75-85 bhp. otherwise no charm in the indian conditions. again Koreans can do it , then why can'nt we? but to keep cost down(most important) they should use the existing engines on a new platform with the diamensions of a compact vehicle in mind.a compact scorpio ?

Inspite of all it's negatives, I think Rio has opened up a new market which the car makers are taking note of. I remember reading in ACI or somewhere that the Rio is doing decent numbers (by it's standards). If premier with it's past image can do it with a Chinese car, M&M can surely succeed here.

I would like to know where you got this information.

And if Mahindra gives no firm news for three-odd years?

A Mahindra vendor involved in the project, quoted in an industry journal. When Mahindra guys were asked about this project, they simply said "No Comments", without denying the news.

ACI has reported about a sub four meter avatar of the logan to come soon and the possible use of platform for an suv/hatch.
I think M&M willl have to sell the logan as renault for another 8 mo.

The concept is fine and would work as long as M&M's designers have nothing to do with it!. A larger verison of the 'Rio" , perhaps?.

Mini SUVs like these were wanted by SUV lovers who couldn't afford the big SUVs since long time. I am sure TATA and Maruti have something up their sleeves to combat M&M.

TATA could either come up with mini ARIA or a bigger VISTA. In that case I hope TATA upgrades the grill to be better than the smiley.
