The SXI was there throughout the 1.6 era. I think you are probably confusing it with the NXT which was launched towards the closing stages........

maruti zen had various models i.e. classic, Carbon and Steel (two Door Versions),
Alto VXi came with the 1.1L engine. They discontinued it because it was canabalising sales of the WagonR, Zen.

Zen came in normal varinats Lx, Lxi, Vx, Vxi. Classic was launched for a short while but wasnt a success. They launched limited edition Zen with 3 doors called the Carbon(Black Colour) & Steel(Silver Colour) with 300 units each, making the limited edition total of 600 units.

A good example is the Indica Xeta. Tata failed with so many rejigs of the original Indica petrol. I was only after they branded it Xeta, did they manage to sell it in decent numbers.

Some of the anniversary editions which Ford had on the Fiesta were actually quite funny. Sticker jobs and the like. I detest those kinda stuff.

Basically, all these sport a few cosmetic mods or maybe even a sunroof, and i dont think they affect resale as such.

Special editions by ford
Escort

freedom
Anniversary
Orion
Alpha
(and maybe one more)

Ikon
Rally sport
Finesse
Limited
Josh 100
Anniversary
Nxt
(and atleast two more which i do not remember)

Fiesta
limited
Fida edition

But the Record for making the max number of limited editions goes to:
general motors for the corsa!

At last count, the number of "limited" editions was more than the "regular" variety. But they were all called 'limited" or "gsi" and they had totally different trim and specs with each edition!

only limited edition which was almost different (exterior) and good looking is Lancer LE. without any stickers or so, they just gave different bumpers, lights, boot door, grill etc..

also it has good resale value among lancer models . correct me if i am wrong

ram

alto has been discussed
maruti 800 had 2 limited editions :rivera, laguna(nt sure of the name).

OT::here in delhi we have some dealers who offer some modifications to a new car and name it limited edition.

Bumping into this near-defunct thread.
I heard that after the BS4 norms, the Indica (NA) is no long available in the top cities.
What are cabbies going to buy now??? Even the palio, a viable option has been discountinued, and the Vista isn't available for the taxi market.
