This is my personal opinion....The car looks horrible. Maruti has made a mockery of a very good car which is the SWIFT. Why are Maruti guys bent upon messing up the designs of their cars. First they messed up by launching SX4 and now swift Dzire? SX4 OWNERS - No offense. But i think the Baleno was good enough than SX4 in all ways.

Gosh! This is the first negative comment about SX4 design!!! That too comparing with Baleno (its a decade old design man!) I know aesthetic is about the individual's taste but this is really weird! Swift sedan is a ugly piece of work for many already although some likes it. But SX4? hmmm...

Imp linl

I was able to find this new link:
The Hindu News Update Service

It mentions that the petrol version will cost 4.75 lakh to 5 lakh, and the diesel version will cost above 5.5 lakh.

Sorry for mistake.

The link that I have provided above direclty lands you on the registeration page.

But this is the homepage of the Dzire.
Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire

I am sorry for my error. Under excitement, I simply went ahead and posted registeration page as home page.

I am really very sorry for my error.

As discussed earlier , the zdi should be 7 lkh OTR

so vdi ~6.5

and zxi ~6.2

Ram correct me if I am wrong....

Now its the turn of Economic Times to set the launch date as Mar-26 ! According to them, petrol variant price range will be 4.5L to 5.4L. Diesel variant to begin from 5L.

Here's the link to the relevant e-paper edition.

Interestingly, their web edition says that launch date is Mar-29 (looks like a copy of The Hindu's news, except) and that petrol version is priced between 4.75L to 5L while diesel variant will begin from 5.5L.

No point saying this but I think it would have looked cool if they had designed it as a station wagon. The Boot looks (thats the first time i have used this smiley perfectly)

So, Dzire coming in low/mid variants or not ? If the Diesel comes only in ZDi, then it makes sense - as the Swift D sales wont be cannibalized and the demand for diesel engines (Swift LDi/VDi + Dzire ZDi) will be limited. Lets see.

The car is here at my yard.It is looking great in golden color. Its a VDI.There is no visible difference in wheel base between swift and the dzire. This one is gonna rock the segment.

It might well be the case that they only launch a ZDi otherwise it would eat into the hatchback sales.

Edit : Just saw Ram's post. Hurray we have a Vdi also... !!!

Pls ignore this post
