The Indigo CS is priced so well because of the "small car" advantage.
I dont think the dezire would be less than 4000mm in length.

I dont think that price is the only consideration. The Dezire promises a better car, with better brand image, better quality, better aftersales and service. All those factors do count for something too.

Personally, I would love to buy the Dezire with a diesel engine. I think thats a potentially untapped market, inspite of the Indigo and Logan. Looks like Suzuki has another winner on its hands.

According to me the most tricky thing for suzuki would be the pricing factor as dezire will not only compete with logan & indigo but will compete with swift also. as indigo cs pricing for petrol is bewn 3.75 to 3.95 for pune ex showroom petrol version & 4.14 to 4.42 diesel version, therein swift goes from 4.05 to 5.20 for petrol & 4.78 to 5.35 for diesel where as logan starts from 4.27 to 4.61 for petrol & 5.40 to 6.55 for diesel version.

ironicaly esteem current starts from 4.84 to 5.20 for petrol in pune. Hence if they keep the same costing of base model it will be costlier to cs by 1.09 lakhs, logan by rs 60,000.

lets see.. whom it kills.

I think you have mentioned the the swift desire prices above. But they cannot do this. Swift dezire will compete with swift hatch . Then the swift hatch prices will have reduced drastically.

Lets wait and see. Ram has informed he will get some details by today evening.

all out there waiting anxiously for the details,i saw the car in flesh.it was almost the same car which was posted earlier.looks pretty ok in flesh but one thing i noticed was a new color-looking almost like the blue in verna called deep pearl blue.so expect few new colors.now comming to the points which can make a difference
fresh beige color for the seats
new front grill with 2 steel slats
new alloys like in the zxi swift
all specs same as zxi swift petrol except the boot.
it looks good from the back
and when we are talking of back-i noticed the badging when the presentation was running, guess it -zdi
yes it will be both petrol and diesel simultaneously launched.
now the variants-lxi,vxi,zxi-in petrol
ldi,vdi,zdi-in diesel.
expect a price hike of about 40-50k from the petrol siblings
more spacious inside at the back than a swift.inclination of seats are tooo good that i forgot i was in a swift.centre arm rest for the rear in zxi and zdi.
now the engine specs.
1.3 ltr petrol and 1.3 ltr diesel.the same as that of swift hatch.i saw in the zxi the 185/70/r14 tyres.170mm ground clearance, now the surprise-all these with just 30 kgs extra and the boot volume -400ltrs.
bit off topic no zdi swift launch scheduled .it will be available only in the sedan.

Ram - Thanks a ton for the info bro! 30 kgs more = hardly any performance drop from the hatch. And 400-litre boot compares quite well to the Indigo's (450 l). Add to that Maruti's perceived value and the Dezire looks like it can pull off a coup in the C-segment.

Just wondering - what have they done to increase rear-seat legroom?? have they altered the wheelbase? Were you able to take any snaps?

Well dont you think this car will compete with the swift hatch more than anything else. If people like the looks they would opt for a car like the swift with the same spec and also wit an A** . The pricing will not help it as we are getting Indigo for lots cheaper. So could you please let us know Exshowroom prices.

I just got a call from my dealer. He too had his training today at Malad and saw the car. He said that the top of the line ZDi would be about 7 lakhs. Further, he said that the rear looks like a Beemer

Good to know about the specs. Does this car come in the 4m bracket aka Indigo CS?
