Business Standard predicted numbers on price looks more realistic. I feel the price to be somewhere near to these numbers.

"We expect the Dzire to be priced quite competitively, maybe a little above Rs 5 lakh for the entry-level petrol LXi, going all the way upto almost Rs 7 lakh for the top-end diesel, the ZDi."

Hi,

> Fellow t-bhpian trrk had seen them at the yard.

A small correction here! I saw the golden VDi in the yard.

Though I am not very partial to the Swift, the Dzire indeed was good looking to my eyes.

Dzire in kochi

Dealer's sales executive took me to their yard in NH-17 Bye-pass today and i had my first glimpse of Dzire. It was a silver ZDI. Four glass panels (including rear) had the year imprint as 07 instead of expected 08. Mfg. date printed near radiator was 18 Jan. It was parked near the gate at the moment and looks like anyone can walk inside and have a look there !!!

Initial impressions.

Boot is pretty big and looks cute. (Reminds me about Fiat Petra)
Front Grills are different. But acceptable.
Back seats are awesome. Not congested like swift.

PDI was not done in that unit. So its not fair to comment on what i saw on quality mark.
However front door made a naughty thud when door glass was down. But it behaved well when glass was up.

If the PDI was not done it would have been in a dirty condition.I feel the car would be neat and spotless by 26th,lol.The launch at Delhi is on 26th and individual state launches on 27th.These cars were there at gurgaon factory since dec 07.So the glass imprints of 07.

Has Maruti finally managed to sort out the EPS in the Dzire or the car still darts left and right as per it's 'Dzire'?

This is a minor issue in the context of launch of a new car. IMO, who will drive a car with their hands off?

Did you try the back seats out to make that comment? I ask because the latest episode of The Car & Bike Show on NDTV commented that the back seat is cramped as compared to the Swift. They had the car and were passing on their initial comments on it.
