ACI March indicates that the wheel base is increased and hence has more room at the back?

Guys

Here is the scoop, the car is already out and more or less all the regional offices of Maruti have the car in all the states, the training is going on. The predicament that Maruti is in is "How to price the car". If in tomorrows budget the excise duty is reduced on all cars (irrespective of the 4000 mm length ) then they will have a killer in their hands and they can even think of fighting it out with the Indigo CS, in that case the car will be launched only in April 08, the bookings might start early. If in case the excise cut is not approved in the budget then the car will be launched in March itself and the deliveries would also start in March.

Ciao

If there is a excise benefit, and if by chance there is some benefit of pricing the Dzire then Dzire might have chance of eating into its hatchback Swift sales. Because of huge waiting period for Swift, people might opt for the Dzire now.

Ram..

I was getting an impression that its a "Swift with a boot", thought that did not require any training... unless its got new engine. Does it have new engine?

rysk,we are not selling the boot alone.Jokes apart, the entire sales team has to be aware of the competition their specs price etc.Whats the strong points in the swift sedan etc. They have to have a feel of the car and they take the initial impression too.Sugestion from people are also welcomed so that some changes ,though minimal can be incorporated.

Ram, do u have an idea what price range the diesel would start? Eco times link suggests 5.44 - that thats impractical considering the swift diesel start price.

Not at all impractical IMHO. Swift LDi is around 4.8 lacs ex-showroom.

So how much impact can Excise Duty cut could have at the Exshowroom price of Dezire or Swift. Can it make too much difference?

Does anybody have any pictures? I am very curious to know how the car looks like? Swift with a boot, sounds interesting but the aesthetics, the tail-lamps and the curves are the ones that i am more interested in.
