Wonder, whether someone on T-BHP has purchased a 1.6 Sports yet? Would be very interesting to know about initial test drive reports

Even I am eager to know, as I've read divergent reviews about it. One magazine said there wasn't much of a difference, whereas another said it handled better than the earlier 1.6.
Mody Ford salesman told me that the suspension is the same, whereas some mags said it has been made tauter, and GC reduced a tad bit, to provide for better handling.

I got one ZXI Diesel in Back in Delhi in January 2008, city FE is 15.5 & highway FE is 20Kmpl.

Had driven from delhi-udaipur-delhi runs effortlessly, but there was a lift-off feeling at sppeds above 160kmph(speedo), i maintained an avg 120-130 on empty highway streches.

I 'Think' i saw one S model today.

Well a silver Fiesta in the opposite lane drive past and i was attracted to its alloys. Before i could be sure, it was gone. The similarities in the rear did not help either.

I think Ford should have made more aggresive changes in the rear

True . But i guess Ford was just keen to give a minor facelift. The front does surely look much better now. Saw one zxi facelift today. Waiting to see a 1.6 S!!

Greetings!!
I test drove the New Fiesta SXI,it really was fun,not much change from the previous but for the better pickup,I dunno if i was over excited by the new car.
Plannin to pick up a sxi or a zxi..still confused? The funny part is that the price difference betweeen the sxi and sport is five thousand only and they give you a lot of
things for that money.Spoiler,Alloys and Sport Pedals.
I was told the Sports would take a month for delivery but they could deliver other models immediately.
Haven't yet decided but i still need to cajole the person who presents the cheque(my dad!!) over the variant. Will keep posting and heeding to all thy advice.
Look Forward to the review on the new kid on the block.

What better pickup? It has exactly the same engine. I don't think anything has been done to improve acceleration times.

I thought they made some changes to ECU to give better mileage. So they achieved better mileage AND performance ?

I'm glad Ford had the guts to get rid of beige interiors - personally I hate beige interiors given our dusty and dirty surroundings. Hope all manufacturers offer an option of beige vs. normal grey / black interiors.

ZXI to SXI is a full 62/65K higher in petrol/diesel; I guess you are talking of SXI vs. Sport which is a 5k difference (and has some feature additions & reductions).

I'm sorry, I read on the Ford website that the 1.6 S has normal interior trim. In any case, I feel beige interiors are not suited at all to our environmental conditions.

Looks more of MONDEO'ish and IKON'ish.

Some bits of designs borrowed from the Mondeo and the Ikon.

somehow the Fiesta never excited me on a TD.

Lets wait for the new one!
